Quote from John Couvillon, of Baton Rouge-based JMC Analytics, in the Advocate. What do you think this means?

Honestly won't know until the results are out. If Trump ends up with a larger than 15% of the AA vote, then it tells you that they are sick of the Dem platform and are starting to open their eyes to think on their own.

If, it's less than 15%, then it's status quo but the AA population wanted to make sure they were able to get out to get OMB out of office.

It means that they are liking early voting and want to get it out of the way. Reading anything else into it is absolutely meaningless.

Nothing. This election is different because of the pandemic. It's an apples to oranges comparison. If we get to election day and turnout still blows previous elections out of the water, then there may be something we can glean from this.

Seems as if John thinks that by early voting your vote counts for more than if you vote at a later time.

There are two different possible takes on increased black turnout in early voting:
1. It’s indicative of greater black enthusiasm and forshadows higher than normal black turnout on election day, likely meaning more votes for democrat candidates.
2. It’s an indication that people don’t want to vote on election day, so they’re voting early to get it over with. There will be no noticeable increase or decrease in overall votes cast, just a difference in when they were cast.

exactly!

a lot of people "expect" there to be a longer than normal wait on the 3rd. So they are going early (they would normally go on the 3rd)

Baton Rouge is 100% going to be Blue for Biden Harris. Baton Rouge and New Orleans. They are two democratic Cities. Where you make up the difference is Ascension, Livingston, Caddo, Bossier and Lake Charles area.

Don't be surprised when you see Baton Rouge is Blue! BR is Blue and the Powers that be are ok with it.

That's my hope. Going to the early election site is a PIA for me and way out of my way. Election day location for me is a 1-2 minute walk.

Propaganda and a united front of lies from media and dishonest city officials work on stupid people. Why are they stupid? Because they are needed that way to be useful.

IMO

It means blacks and marxists don’t want to vote in person.

Trump will carry LA.

The city is blue but the suburbs in the parish are red. EBR Parish is roughly 50/50, so it’s a swing parish in elections. Plus, the mayor/president primary is on the ballot.

You forgot the 2 biggest parishes that will go red: Jefferson (#2 in population) and St. Tammany (#4 in population) and those ranks were the same in voters in 2016. Jefferson basically cancels out EBR and ST doesn't cancel Orleans but cancels the majority of it.

I’m pretty sure that you would have to go back several presidential elections to find a time when Baton Rouge wasn’t blue.

As long as they only vote once and are eligible to vote it doesn't mean anything.

Unless the implied bias in early voting is AAs and Democrats are too stupid or lazy to do so on the appointed day and by doing early voting it vastly increases their turnout.
