Well, I don't think it will ever happen. I think we may get to a situation where several cities ban firearms, maybe a state like California or Massachusetts will even challenge the 2A on a statewide basis and lose, but that's about it.

The cities that ban will get their own taste of all the success other cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Baltimore have had, taking guns from the law abiding, and the sane ones will vote those who don't respect the Constitution out.

As a matter of fact, I'd wholeheartedly support a federal law that bans all firearms of any kind, in any city with 100k or more people, including the police. Yeah, blood would run like a river for a while, but it would almost be worth it to see every Democrat from Bill Clinton, to Pelosi, to Schumer, to Feinstein, to Debbie Wasserschultz begging for the 2A to be reinstated and for law abiding gun owners to come back and save their shitholes, wouldn't it?

Twenty-one percent said they favored such a proposal, compared with 60 percent in opposition.
21% huh? Well if it can get that support to move from 1/5 to 2/3 then maybe it's worth considering since 2/3 is the magic number in the senate, house, and the the states. And in reality it's 66.6% of the House, 67% of the senate, and 68% of the states. So they better get that support to closer to 80% maybe even 90% to expect not only an amendment but an amendment that repeals a bill of rights amendment.

Considering that our current “democracy” seems to be based on popular opinions of about 33 percent of the public, that isn’t so bad.
Besides the random number and the fact that our representatives often do a poor job of representing things that have support across parties, someone seems to not understand that we have a “representative democracy” not a “direct democracy.”

Obviously we've drawn a line between arms and other weapons (like a bazooka), but when the text says "shall not be infringed," then banning some type of arms would be an infringement and therefore require the original amendment to be repealed and replaced with a qualifier like "except for assault weapons."

Describe an "assault weapon" and what components and operation have it differ from a common hunting rifle.
Thanks in advance!

Well I'm not the one advocating for it, so why are you asking me to define it?

That’s not how it works. Since the OP, you have been asked repeatedly to define “assault weapon” and what differentiates an AR 15 from a hunting rifle that uses the same caliber ammunition. You have failed to do so.

You’re the one who wants “assault weapons” banned. The obligation is on you to define what an assault weapon is, not for others to explain to you why no such definition exists.

If you want them banned, you should have no trouble clearly articulating a fact-based answer to that question. “They look scary” and “that’s what Nicholas Cruz used” are simply not sufficient to support your conclusion.

America has always had a small percentage of dipshit douchebags who believe any and all leftist horse manure. For 240 years.

Your link is a leftist rag with a radical fricktard writing the "story"

So you have no opinion on it one way or the other?

Fine. What is your description of it? Doesn't matter one way or the other to you, so no pressure. How would you describe an "assault weapon"?

Handguns were used in 19 times as many murders than rifles were in 2016, according to the Uniform Crime Reporting data.”

So if you don’t support ARs being around you shouldn’t support handguns either, right? So what do you support, it’s not the 2nd amendment as you claim

The dems already know this, and know that a outright ban of everything semi auto is impossible right now. But, if they can get the AR ban than next will be handguns using your exact argument. “We banned ARs and that’s great but handguns kill way more people! They need to go!”
