So was she here legally or not? I don’t care where in the process she was.

Sara followed steps to legally migrate to the United States and does not have a criminal record. The Colombian national was in the midst of obtaining her permanent residency, a lengthy process.

Most undocumented immigrants are not eligible to adjust their status to become permanent residents while physically present in the U.S.
General Challenges:

Entry without Inspection:
If an undocumented immigrant entered the U.S. without proper inspection and authorization (e.g., sneaking across the border), they are generally barred from adjusting their status while remaining in the country.

Unlawful Presence:
Staying in the U.S. without legal status for more than 180 days triggers a bar from re-entering the country for a period of time (3 or 10 years).

What was her exemption?

Too many folks here turn a blind eye when HSI moves to suspend habeas while Homan explains to the public that ICE does not need probable cause to detain people.
Sounds like a legal argument. Perhaps the model student from Long Island currently in a Louisiana detention center can make it.

You have no evidence that she was in the "process" of anything. Just the following snippet from the article, that says she was in the "midst" of obtaining her permanent residency.

"The Colombian national was in the midst of obtaining her permanent residency, a lengthy process."

She's been here a decade or more, flouting our laws.

1 in ten million is a genuine benefit to society (maybe) doesn't dismiss the 10 million who aren't.

That doesn't tell me if she is here legally or not. I bought a gym membership. I am still a fat a-hole that didn't follow through.

Is she Maryland Father or not?

That said I am all for keeping any latina pending weight limit framework Trump sets up

What is wrong with Colombia?

It’s an assumption to suggest they wind up in Columbia. She was in litigation. The point is these are the immigrants you want here. Why does ICE need to be involved in this type of case? Why not let the process play out?

It’s hard to trust these stories without knowing more.

They tried to blame all of us and South Carolina on a woman’s death because of some made up abortion ban SC doesn’t have.

And the girl died from taking the abortion pill.

And it’s also more likely a liberal is writing these. They outnumber us there.

Here is a good example of them twisting things.

It’s only for illegal immigrants.

But they want you to think he’s cutting it for all immigrants.

Do you really believe it’s one in ten million? Some Canadian MAGA woman was detained last week as well. ICE frequents immigration court hearings. These stories are common, just not posted here.

Do you really believe it is one in ten million?

Pretty important paperwork if you're in prison over it. I'd say maybe make sure your paperwork is up to date if you're living in a foreign country.

Why would she not wind up in Colombia? She's not a criminal. There is no reason they won't take her and her mother back?

If they won't take her back, why would we want her?

Funny they hit a home for an entirely different person. I wonder why that is? Stands to reason a family member(maybe dad or cousin) was there or they were harboring someone else who isn’t a citizen. I don’t see you crying for the mother, who was also taken. I guess mom isn’t accomplished enough. If people want to be mad, be mad at her parents for setting her up for failure. Law sucks sometimes but it is the great teacher when it’s enforced.

I'm going to go to Japan because I like it. Maybe I'll overstay my visa. But I'll be a model citizen.

What do you think would happen to me?

1 in 20 million, is more accurate.

Thanks for your concern.

The point is we can accomplish mass deportation of bad actors without doing this. It’s just not necessary & frankly it is counterproductive + gives the pro-illegal extremists a lot of ammo. It also costs public money.

Just because it says she was in the "midst" of it, doesn't mean she really was. It just means she told the reporter that she was super serious about getting it taken care of and was going to get right on that as soon as possible.

It's code for doing nothing. You generally cannot get permanent residency while you are here illegally. It can happen, but extremely rare.

You sound like you’re from New York and voted for Kamel Toe! I don’t have to read shite. If you didn’t take care of your business, then why should you be able to take advantage of what this country offers? Sounds like privilege to me!! Because privilege is EXACTLY what the left promotes when it comes to illegals.
