For the life of me, I can't understand why last week, when all of Ford's waffling was going on, Grassley didn't just say, "we would have loved to have had hearings on Dr. Ford's allegations. Unfortunately, Democratic hag Diane Feinstein (who has had the relevant information since July) decided not to inform the committee about these allegations until the hearings were finished. She should have let us know in a timely fashion, and her intentional delay has done a grave injustice to both Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh. The hearings, however, are closed and we are voting today." It would have been easy to shift the blame to Feinstein, even with the media in the tank for the dems.

I totally believe this is the case. Kavanaugh has earned my respect. Good for him.

So Kavanaugh is a serial rapist that’s never been accused of a single damn thing until 2018?!? Is there actually anyone dumb enough to truly believe these idiots?

Flake is fricking useless.

Flake is the deciding vote in committee. He is the only person in the Senate that matters right now. Unless Turtle pulls the nomination to the floor without a committee vote.

They absolutely blew it by negotiating with Ford. So many on this board knew this would happen, how could our "leaders" be so naïve?

Now they will get barbecued by the media if they proceed with a vote without allowing every single professional accuser to have her little moment playing games with the United States Senate.

Vote
Now

ETa: Trump should be offering Flake an ambassadorship in some tropical paradise right now. Make this happen!

Flake is going to cash that vote in. It's perfect for him.

The Don will make him an offer he can't refuse.

Really is the perfect way for Flake to ingratiate himself to the GOP on his way out. An olive branch that would help out everyone.

They were never going to let her appear. She’s an utter fruitcake.

If Ford does not show...Kavanaugh should not testify. If he does....he will have gone first and Ford will now say I wanna testify........It's a trap. Don't step in it.,

Incorrect. The nomination can advance to the floor with a negative referral, or no referral, from the committee.

What Flake does in committee is essentially of no consequence.

What is wrong with these old dudes.
These are the kind of people I cannot stand to work with. The "there are rules, lines, that are in place and we must follow all the rules and stay in the lines no matter what".

Like, "Oh look a pencil on the floor." They're like: "oh no, you cannot pick that up, we have people to do that, they have their procedures, the world will end in a fiery explosion of chaos...ohmahgawd he picked up the pencil! call the cops!dial 911! get the hazmat team! call out the Marines!"

I agree. But never underestimate the GOP's ability to shoot their collective selves in the foot. If the GOPe had it's way, Jeb Bush would have been the Republican nominee. The American people gave them a collective "frick you" by backing Trump.

Set a date on Thursday and keep it. Call the vote the very next day. Republican's are going to be "barbecued" by the media regardless. So there actually is ZERO risk by voting immediately
