Equality has never applied to dress code.
If that was the case, women would be wearing jackets and ties.
When I first started practicing law, this sort of thing was the standard uniform for female lawyers. Skirt below the knees and tie required. Male lawyers were expected to wear ONLY a business suit, as well. No sport coats. Too informal.

About 1991 or so, one of my fellow associates (granted, a former beauty queen and about 5'11") started wearing this sort of thing. It was quite controversial at the time.

Soon thereafter, the other women started experimenting too, and some of the more-daring male associates (me included) started wearing slacks and a sport coat (with tie, of course) on non-court days. But she was the one who first broke the informal dress code "rules." By the late 1990s, I regularly wore slacks and a sport coat to court, and female lawyers were wearing dresses. As these things go, the change was FAST ... less than a decade.

Oh, and i have no issue having dress codes.

the least these jackass politicians can do is dress and act professionally while in session

I was told, one from North County would show up to meetings in pajama pants/lulu lemons, etc. Slippers, hair in curlers, etc.

I don't really care about the in session dress code although this seems kinda silly.

When I paged at the Oklahoma Senate suit and tie were the expectation for men. Woman technically had it a little more laxed with the dresses they could wear. But most were in business jackets and pant suits anyways or had jackets with their dresses.

Are you saying that the people of Missouri no longer have the right to bare arms?

They have saved portions.

If you live on a street named after a state, you should be carrying to bring your groceries in the house.
