CHS will win this race, say a few nice words tonight, and then promptly and quietly disappear and then she will be a perfectly average and ordinary senator that will rubber stamp everything Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, Haley Barber and Phil Bryant wants.

She was ag commissioner. She will just do what Cochran did and go to bat for farmers, timber, and the catfish industry. Which is pretty much all most in Ms care about.

CHS wasn’t the best candidate for the R’s..agreed, but you know what you’re getting and Espy, jeez, he’s been a crook for years so don’t make him out to be some unbelievable candidate himself..

If Jim Webb was the Democratic nominee, I would have voted blue myself...

Dude. Where did I say Espy was a good candidate?

Obama couldn’t win a Senate seat in MS.

It’s a deep red state.

Yea but being black is all that matters to most Dem voters here. Surprised Delta turnout wasn’t higher but honestly blacks here tune out of politics a lot more than the ones in Jackson

Fair enough.

But lots of folks held their nose to vote for her.

It is what it is.

Real bad sign for Democrats for next year's statewide races in MS, Espy had a real campaign, high name recognition, and more than enough money and he still loses by 10 points. Can't see any other Dem doing better.

But at the same time it really shows how incredible Alabama and Louisiana's Senate and Gov wins were for the Dems. Candidates matter.

In Lousiana and Alabama, the Dems played sexism which is one of the only 2 cards they can play.

I don’t think his school had that course. They had early 20th century European History instead.

Actually I can see Jim Hood doing better but carry on

Its just a normal sign, Hood is not a normal candidate, and Espy really did not have high name recognition for the right reasons, also bringing Kamala Harris and Cory Booker in hurt him more than it helped, poor campaign decision.

They played racism here and would’ve tried the sexism thing eventually. The labeling has been effective in the past so why not go with what works? Too bad it’s becoming the toss dive of political discourse and people have started ignoring it

Easy now the toss dive employed by one Leslie Miles beat Ole Miss plenty of times so it is really not comparable
