Those aren't the same thing. Wild rice is black actually.

I was referring to red rice, also considered a weed in Louisiana. It’s definitely red, but I also know the variety you’re talking about.

It’s gotta be a communist playbook type of thing.

There’s no way they care about this. It’s just something to waste our time and money.

I sometimes put bacon in ettouffee solely as an affront to Islam. I'd be a superstar on the PF Board.

This is bulls**t. Only domesticated rice should have the right to exist.

Well, you know what they say, history doesn't always repeat, but it often rhymes.

quote:

The "Barefoot Scientist" (Trofim Lysenko)
Lysenko was an uneducated peasant agronomist who rose to power by promising Stalin he could triple crop yields without complex science.

He was appointed Director of the Institute of Genetics and later President of the Lenin Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

The Pseudo-Science: He rejected Mendelian genetics as "bourgeois" and "fascist." He believed in vernalization (freezing seeds to "teach" them to grow in winter) and planting seeds extremely close together, claiming plants of the same "class" would not compete for resources.

The Consequence: His methods were made mandatory across the USSR. The crops froze or rotted, contributing significantly to the famines of the 1930s and 1947. Scientists who opposed him, like Nikolai Vavilov, were arrested and starved to death in prison.

I guess it would, depending on what the wild rice identifies as.

What a time to be alive, stupidity in full effect.
