If true, that just shows that trans can only exist in mentally ill people

He was "trans" the whole time and was late to come out as such

His mom ignored his other mental issues and was hoping pushing him to be trans would solve it all

No. He was clearly born broken, but became obsessed (as in forming his personal identify of himself) with mass shootings after he was exposed to Sandy Hook.
So that would make him, what, 10?
From that point forward his sense of self was directly associated with mass killings. It consumed his self identity.

Has a lot to do with it. The shooter admitting that cutting his hair would feel like defeat shows how much brainwashing he was a victim of.

But seriously, who couldn’t see the potential problem with this? Mentally unstable people that we gave estrogen to. Estrogen isn’t exactly known for curing mental illness.

Sociopaths are good at hiding to a point. I doubt he hid them as well as you think he did but instead his mom buried the thought of it because she didn't want to accept the fact that he was mentally ill. Encouraging him to become trans, which is now widely accepted and encouraged, was a much easier path for her.

These parents try to be supportive, but might be doing more harm than good. Obviously in this case.
Just like demonizing parents for refusing to support trans as teens is not helpful. Demonizing the parents for being supportive does not make for a rational conversation about how to properly deal with this….
The Internet supersedes parental influence as far as the teenage mind is concerned.
Young people have so many hormones and emotional changes that things seem insurmountable.
Another major teen problem is bullying and emotional blackmail. Suicides are up.
The overall issue is that teen embarrassment or pain is leading to suicide instead of personal growth.

The left's popularized idea that trans is normal and should be affirmed in children to avoid depression and violent/suicidal behavior is one of the greatest lies ever told.
I suspect Westman, like most trans people, believed living as a woman would make him feel more accepted and more emotionally stable. I suspect his uber liberal mother believed this as well. When that stability in the opposite gender doesn't come, and the irreversible effects of transitioning hit home, things only get worse.

How long did he take hormones without shooting anyone?
The mental illness came first. Being trans didn't cause the shooting; the mental illness that resulted in him transitioning also resulted in him shooting children.

I mean your OP shows it was just a temporary phase and likely a symptom of his extreme psychosis.
That's why focusing on the trans stuff for THIS example probably isn't fruitful.
Now the Nashville shooter? That one has plenty of evidence that the trans stuff directly played a role in the evil/tragedy. Just like all the other examples where the violence is directly related to abuse/bullying/judgment.
