Can a military guy verify what I say about the MOAB? I don't want to repeat something that is incorrect. I know I'm correct about only a transport plane can carry it. But the rest.

Would they fly a C130 over a contested air space? If there was a fifty percent chance of sophisticated air defense?

Of course not.
The question one should ask is can the US get a 130 anywhere in Iran it wants to and the answer is 100% yes.

Didn’t Israel purchase a large number of MOABs from the US about six months ago?

Start decimating all the check points.

Advantage is it kills mostly military personnel. Will allow citizens to move about. Will also weaken moral of military.

This was a strategic release, masked as a leak. It is meant to send a message to Iran to be very afraid. Think people...

Dod we not already drop Moabs on Iran? I thought we used them on their underground nuclear facilities?

Those were bunker busters MOABs drop out of the back of a cargo plane with a parachute.

Why? Is it necessary?

I heard that Iran's military had been thoroughly destroyed -- from none other than the ultimate Arbiter of Truth, The Magnificent One.

Iranian airspace is the antithesis of contested after we completely destroyed their air defenses in the opening days of the operation.

And yet they shot down at least one f15. We are great and I realize their air defenses are mostly gone, and I know given 50 other air craft to support a single cargo plane we could probably do it, but it won't happen. The MOAB isn't going to change anything. Hopefully, time will. Only ground forces can take that last mountain.

Didn't the Israels say when they went into the caves of Hez in s lebo. that GPMs would have never dented them? And a MOAB is not ground penetrating.
Anyways, if the military drops one, I will cheer !!!

Sure. You might as well clear the shelves of even the big stuff so you can restock them for the next cycle.

Thanks. I see there are two distinct Moab bombs, the GBU-57 MOP which is the bunker buster and the GBU-43/b which is a surface bomb
