Constitutionally, without the right to life, all other rights are meaningless. Having said that, regrettably this is a minority opinion. You have to change the minds and make it a majority opinion (of those who bother to vote) before this can be accomplished.

That's right, you tolerate the Marxist insanity and by tolerating it you encourage it....good job.

Never. The vast majority of Americans (~85%) are mindless consumers gobbling up whatever is put in front of them (social media, MSM, groupthink among peers, etc).

Distance yourself from the idiots and befriend more self-reliant, religiously-centered, pragmatic thinkers.

"religiously-centered, pragmatic thinkers."

I hope that's sarcasm.

It’s not.

You should read more. May I suggest John Stuart Mill, Pascal, or William James.

The state should vote on the issue like others have. Not just pass a bill.

A little, but mainly it seems to me that you've never really given this matter much thought. People always try to frame this as "That person wants to force their morals and I don't", but that's simply incorrect. 99% of the people in the US, and probably the world, have some moral values that they think are important enough to codify. They have other moral values that they don't think are important enough to codify. You're no different, nor am I.

If Republicans want to tie their success to banning abortion they will lose almost every election going forward, meaning Democrats will have free reign to shape the country to their liking.

Gas lighting. This is what the media filth tells you so you will believe it. Few people cast votes based on their position on abortion. It’s just another form of propaganda politics so those in power can stay away from issues Americans find more problematic and blame this issue on their constant change of positions on other issues.

Weird, here I am thinking it was already banned in Louisiana.
it is banned nearly completely as of the USSC overturning Roe. I think this current bill is to disconnect the state abortion bill from the Fed gov. I recall in 2018? when the LA Legis. passed the trigger law (which banned it upon a future Roe overturn) talk of such a follow up bill as this HB813.

The only way Republicans win the abortion issue is to preach personal responsibility and remove entitlements that lead to many of these abortions. But they won’t because they need to gin up support from the thumpers.

How brave is it really to kill the unborn? Respecting life might be just outside the boundary for some, but not all. You act like this issue is settled except for a few holdouts. But this issue is the hill I'm willing to die in, this party should be willing to die on. So much so that if it loses elections, and this country goes out the window completely, then we need to sort it out in blood.

Not all Republicans are Pro-Life.
I know it, but more Republicans are pro-life than Democrats, and the discussion is about Republicans being told to stop pushing “extreme” pro-life positions or else lose votes. That doesn’t apply to pro-abortion Republicans who aren’t pushing pro-life laws.

And if you're trying to push out the Pro Lifers, fine. Have fun losing every election ever.
Like I said before, it’s only a matter of time that the GOP will look just like the Democrats in terms of social policy. It’s already happening with abortion, and just like abortion, positions that used to seem common sense will be abandoned as radical as the culture continues its demonic left turn.

If Republicans have to talk and act like Democrats in order to get elected, why not just vote for Democrats?

Is there any situation in which an abortion should be available?
E, g., nonviable fetus combined with threat to life of the mother? There are such cases.

The left did it for decades. Now they own social issues. The republicans tried to wander in “gray area” since Reagan left. Now they are split, weak and no one trusts them.

Mitt Romney was “electable” by the GOP calculus. Remember that.

Let's end abortion and get all the republicans kicked out of office just to have abortion permanently reinstated. But won't that glorious few months of no abortions be worth it.

The abortion issue has no water with the cheap birth control pills.

If you are too stupid or lazy to purchase birth control pills which in some cases are FREE to welfare....

Abortion is a created and maintained issue just like racism has been for decades by the leftist, now marxist progressive Demo-rats.

The GOP need to shut their mouths and let abotion die on the vine.

And some of those states are trying to prevent citizens from going to other states, where it is legal, and charging them with felony murder.

And dont act like there arent Republicans trying to pass a federal ban on abortion
