Bless your heart!
Your words are pure, but over-the-moon naive, and unrealistic.
There's always a BEST time and place to pull the trigger, and it should be well planned and thoughtout.

Republicans need to chill out on all the abortion talk. Its a losing issue at the polls and all its doing is helping get Democrats elected and allow them to push all their radical left wing agendas, including abortion almost up until birth.

Republicans are going to die on the hill of abortion and its going to cost us gun rights, higher taxes, more open borders, and a crap economy

It was absolutely morally wrong to kill that many innocent civilians in Japan. I’m not a strategist on how to win wars and such.

Seems a bit gutless to say the decision to drop the bomb was absolutely (assume that means 100%) wrong and not provide at least one morally superior strategy because you are not a "strategist". If you are going to pass judgement with such certainty, why not even give it a try. What would you have done? Sacrifice an extra hundred thousand US servicemen in order to surgically avoid as many Japanese civilian deaths as possible? Is there a ratio of US Servicemen deaths to Japanese civilian deaths that is morally acceptable? The moral certitude you have on dropping the bombs is quite impressive.

I believe it’s cowardly to only want a certain side to win elections over protecting the unborn.

Please tell us in what world does basically guaranteeing that Democrats win future elections not lead to the most liberal abortion laws possible? Because it is really one or the other in the current way the system works. This is where there is no nuance. Work your best to guarantee Republican success by taking a less hardline stance on abortion or take the most hardline abortion stance possible that will guarantee Democrat success?

You are willing to draw a completely immovable line in the sand even if it most certainly guarantees there are way more abortions in the future? You are going to say to those children aborted at 39 weeks "hey... I know these extreme democrats would not have been in power to make a law that allows you to be aborted if I were not so immovable in my mission to ban all abortions but you know what... my conscious is clean. Sorry you had to be cut up a week before you would be born but that is the price you have to pay so that my conscious is clean. Tough break huh kid"

Yep.

If you are against abortion, great. Don't fricking have one.

Perhaps Christians should work on saving and converting us heathens instead of trying to force people to do as they command.

And don't say a damn thing about moral relativism. The Church changes their ideas on what's right and wrong every other decade.

That’s literally what laws do; forced compliance. If you’re not an anarchist you want to use the power of the state to force people to comply with the values you think are important.

Agreed, at this point, it is an election losing issue for the Republicans.

So when the cult claims Ron can win with his 6 week ban they are lying?

Yes it is. But there's not enough people on the Pro Life side to pass sweeping anti-abortion laws.

But you have a minority of people screaming to do it anyway even though the majority doesn't seem to care.

So instead of trying to pass laws with zeronsupport, maybe go spread the good Word and grow your coalition instead of beating a dead horse?

It’s a loser. It makes no sense to do it. You can stand on your abortion principles and hold no offices then you can look forward to partial birth abortions.

And watch the 1st and 2nd amendments eroded as well.

I wonder how many who support a total ban on abortions would be ok with losing the 2nd amendment as a consequence.

It might seem to you that I'm anti-religion. I'm a non-believer but I am glad you or whomever finds peace in their religious beliefs.

I just don't want my rights and life altered because of someone else's teachings.

If anti-abortion laws had support, fine. Ban it. I really don't care either way. I just get sick of the "ban abortion no matter whay" crowd.

OP either the purposely distorted the facts around the bill being killed or does not understand the reason it was killed. Regardless, your attack on Johnson is not warranted or supported by the record.

And this is the problem with the christian right and progressive left. They are the same in philosophy--"you are only entitled to your own beliefs if they align with mine."

That’s actually one of the foundational bases of representative government.

The issue was returned to the States. Now you want a national debate all over again. Roe v Wade II

Hard pass.

Which means post birth abortion would be legal

Yup. Republicans are really, really bad at understanding incrementalism.

While, Democrats have used it to the point they no longer need it.
