Just read up on this. It was a standard plea agreement in state court There is no flipping here. Every plea deal I've ever seen includes language requiring cooperation in any ongoing investigation or hearing. Mueller didn't make a deal. This guy hasn't "flipped". He pled down to probation on charges with a statutory maximum of 125 years. He's probably giving them something on someone.

they are probably tightening the noose around Cohen, but this is a state court matter and it's unlikely this deal overlaps with the federal investigations. so if we're focusing on Trump, the potential exposure is still very limited. Cohen may be proper fricked, though (and of course they're doing this in the state system so Trump can't pardon him, but i still think if there is anything nefarious going on, the federal charges are the real issues and Cohen knows he'll be pardoned there if he stays silent)
*ETA: if Cohen is really that tied up with the Russian mob, Trump is the last thing he's worried about in terms of ratting

How many separate charges add up to that 125? How many priors? Financial crimes with restitution? Etc. It probably isn't strange at all. Y'all want this to be something so bad. There is zero evidence to suggest it is. Standard plea is standard.

I believe this guy was indicted before Mueller started. He was facing more years. Once Mueller came in, he was able to offer a sweeter deal for whatever “The King” was willing to offer.
Cohen is chump change. He’s a nothing in the grand scheme. What Cohen does offer is an opening to Trump’s real lawyers with the Trump Organization.

These are good points. Some very good Trumpologists like Tim O'Brien who's been covering the Trump organization 15+ years don't think Cohen is a bit of a peripheral player at least with regard to the most potentially damaging secrets of the organization.
