The only way to deal with the Mexican question is to destroy Mexico by invasion and conquest. If they want to live in the United States so badly, let's just eliminate Mexico has an independent entity like what we should have done when we kicked their asses in the Mexican-American War.

You are correct, I feel entitled to have the military do the job I've been paying them to do. I also expect the trash to get picked up and my water and electricity to function. I guess things are different in your socialist utopian world?

I don't think SCH is a socialist

I've never understood how it is so difficult for posters to understand the posters they choose to engage.

You do realize military members pay taxes

Keep your uninformed opinions about how to effectively operate in the trash

If you think you can do better go to the recruiting station

So do linemen, it doesn't mean I'm OK with my power going out in a wind storm.

Is it the linemans fault if it does go out?

Considering the article said they were establishing a “hasty observation post” I would anticipate there were no rules of engagement because there was no anticipated threat.

ETA: It would be my guess their task was to observe and report, not interdict.

Wolfhound is an Army Colonel if I'm not mistaken. He probably has some insight that we don't.

He’s a Reservist I believe. You also need to add that qualifier.

There’s always an ROE regardless of where you are at. The theater baseline SPINS will provide that information. Also if you think they deployed to the border without a JAG Brief you’re out of your mind or so disconnected from those “company grade” officers you so like to belittle.

I am an AGR with two battalion commands, two brigade commands, and a resident SSC grad who is currently the chief of staff for a two star command.

Probably want to throw in those qualifiers as well.

ETA: Would love to see your qualifiers as a company grade pilot.

ETA2: Let’s throw that DA 4037 up and see what you got.

ETA3: Let’s also throw in that I had seven years enlisted service (11B SSG), twelve years Regular Army (MAJ) and now fifteen years Army Reserve AGR (COL). Do we still want to play the qualifiers game?

Don’t overstate your case. They are observing and reporting only. They are not intending on engaging anyone. They are an extension of the Border Patrol only.

This is not a COP in Iraq.

Don't know about the Reservist part, I just recall him transferring to Tampa(?) and being an Iron Eagle, unless my memory is faulty.

I am proud to say I am an Army Reserve AGR. I consider it a tremendous honor to serve in the manner that I do. He only thinks it is some kind of slur because he does not understand our history nor the what the Constitution has to say about the Army (Article I, Section 8).
