You know what? Let's completely f$&k the cartels, let's also eliminate all entitlement programs, the minimum wage, all tariffs, pass the FAIR Tax, abolish Obamacare, and have completely open borders too while legalizing all drugs, prostitution, alcohol, automatic weapons, ect. What would our organized crime syndicats even be able to do then?

Joe was certainly an opportunist and almost certainly profited from liquor business during prohibition, but he was no Al Capone.
Prohibition of vices simply doesn't work in an otherwise free society. I mean, we could be like some other countries and impose the death penalty for anyone caught with drugs, but I don't think we want to go down that road.
Fwiw, I am opposed to drug use from a personal and moral standpoint. I just think we're wasting blood and treasure on folly with our continued war on drugs.
It's also ridiculously hypocritical. Why not return to the prohibition of alcohol? I don't drink. It wouldn't affect me.

Wouldn't say they are largely ignored, but journalists are literally targeted there. Afghanistan is safer as a journalist than Mehico.
There was a time when there were journalists who disregarded their own safety to expose shite like this. Now, these people are regarded as "fake news sites/fake journalists" by our so-called "journalists" of today. The only "fake news" we've been watching for the past 50 years is ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, NYT, etc.
