I don't really get this. Obviously they didn't get what they paid for, but they were probably paying for legitimate information that they could use, so the legitimacy issue should be a major criticism, but why would someone paying for the information have any bearing on that?

I guess 2 things:
First-bias, to say the least. If your enemy is paying for research on you, well, that's questionable in itself.

Second-they got their information from & by paying RUSSIA!!!! GEEZ!!! It's collusion right there!! with a foreign gov't!!! And Russia, no less!!!!

Well. I mean. If you let the court believe that an independent agency acquired information when in fact, it was "acquired" by opponents of the person you want a warrant on................

Come the frick on man. Have some self-respect
I guess I'm just saying it's the message that's important, not the messenger. It seems like the message was bad so that should be the focus, in my opinion. In fact, I find that more disturbing because that would mean regardless of the messenger, the message isn't thoroughly vetted by anyone in this process. Of course, that's not as exciting from a partisan standpoint, but I think it's more important and highlights Rand's and Amash's criticisms of the entire process.

Per DU:

We just lost all of our allies
None of our allies will ever share any intelligence with the US ever again.
What kind of a fricking a-hole is in the White House now, anyway?

I just don't get the part about who paid for it.

that shows extreme prejudice/bias

just think about the more general scenario. your "team" pays a 3rd party to do biased opposition research against your team's political opponent. you then use this biased documentation that you, in effect, created, to sway a judge to grant a warrant

you think the judge shouldn't know how the document originated? imagine what police could do against anyone under this scenario

Remember the piece of shite John McCain pushed this dossier to give it some sense of bipartisanship credibility.

John McCain is a treasonous low life.

seriously.
I said this:

Since the dossier seems to be poorly researched,
I'm saying the research in the dossier seems to be poor work. So if that makes me an imbecile, then I guess you're saying the dossier was well-researched and therefore much more valid?

There was just a thread this morning about how he's been quiet lately and how refreshing that was.

frick McCain and all that noise. Releasing the memo isn't doing Putin's job. All these corrupt MF'ers breaking the law are aiding Putin.

Mueller – Republican, appointed by Rosenstein.

Rosenstein – Republican, appointed by Trump.

Sessions – Republican, appointed by Trump.

Wray – Republican, appointed by Trump.

But yeah...they are all helping the democrats.

I'm just generally curious how the source necessarily means anything as opposed to the information itself and the legality of its collection.

It means that the FBI was put to use by the Democratic Party to spy on Donald Trump in an attempt to influence a presidential election.

eh, with these burdens, it's a combination of both

LEO is give the benefit of the doubt due to their status, which is why they typically have to swear to the authenticity of the information in the warrant. if they didn't personally acquire evidence listed, they have duties to disclose the source or they risk a likely successful attack of the warrant down the road
