A few questions that I have and I’ll state before hand, that despite being pretty conservative, I’m not a big trump fan. Sorry if some of these have already been posted.

Why didn't the FBI disclose to the FISA court that the Steele document was funded by the DNC and Clinton campaign when they knew at the time of application that it was?

Why did the FBI not disclose to the FISA court the clear personal animus that Steele had against then candidate Trump when they knew as early as September 2016 when that information was given to Ohr and recorded in FBI files?

Why did the FBI use the Steele document in a FISA application when as late as June, 2017, Comey referred to it as "salacious and unverified"?

Why did McCabe testify before the HIC that without the Steele dossier no survellance warrant would have been sought?

Why does the FISA application by the FBI incorrectly assess that Steele did not supply information to Yahoo News when Steele admits in British court filings that he met with Yahoo News and several other news outlets in September 2016 at the direction of Fusion GPS even though Yahoo News is cited several times in the FISA application?

Yup...

AND...he cited the public information in articles, most of us already knew what was in the memo anyway...

It's amazing, though...the CIA has to be laughing their arse off

If Carter weren’t clean, he would be a fricking dumbass to pursue a lawsuit against the government over this surveillance as he has tweeted about.

Not saying it is out of the realm of possibility, but someone who knows they are guilty should know better.

I believe that this is how Alger Hiss ended up being caught, as he got buffaloed into suing over Whitaker Chambers’ claims despite the claims being true. And it was proven in court his typewriter created the documents in question found in a hollowed out punpkin.

If it were unverified, as admitted in the memo, would you stake your law enforcement career on the dossier being correct and submitting it to the court?

You are operating under quite a few assumptions.

One, that Nunes’ memo is remotely accurate and not a transparent attempt at discrediting the Meuller investigation. Time will tell. It certainly reeks from my vantage point, but hey because I’ve voted for one democrat in my life, I’m like a total libtard and can’t be objective.

Two, you are assuming that no other information was used to reach the burden of probable cause. I hear the chorus of “McCabe testified that no dossier = no FISA” and I’m certainly willing to hear that. But you have to provide some evidence better than gateway pundit or some random Twitterer.

I’m in the camp with BHP on this one. I suspect there is possibly dirt on both sides and our country would be better if we straight-up nuked the far right and left. The idea that this memo is somehow an earth-shattering revelation is a bit of a stretch, though.

I think those are all reasonable questions. I also think you are going to be very disappointed with the low threshold needed to reach probable cause in this context (despite Nunes using language to make a FISA warrant seem like a nuclear launch order).

I think another reasonable question would be: why is the bar for surveilling an American citizen so low?

I cannot WAIT for the ensuing Trump tweets. This is what he was born for.

The human sledgehammer we elected is about to go to work.

You are assuming that an investigation

1) Based on a claim
2) By political opponents
3) Based on a FISA warrant
4) Based on a dossier
5) Written by Steele
6) paid for by political opponents

Is somehow because of Nunes' being "remotely accurate"

You completely miss the point. THIS
...
quote:

f Trump would let Mueller just do his job...and Trump is guilty of nothing...Mueller, the republican, would clear Trump.

...shouldn't make a bit of difference. And who says he is a republican anyway? How does that help or hurt?

I also doubt that the Steele dossier was the sole basis for obtaining or renewing a FISA warrant.

Well McCabe testified before Congress that the Steele Dossier was the only thing they used for the FISA warrant.

Second, who can ever believe anything that the FBI offers on a FISA warrant again?

Hugely. The problem is, the requirements are already so high and the punishments relatively severe, for falsifying a FISA warrant, that you can't really make it any more corruption-proof without chopping off the heads of abusers on the steps of the capital. Which I would support.

Granted, it SHOULD be virtually corruption proof but corruption is like rust, it never sleeps or dies

You don’t think it’s Earth shattering that a political party used the official institutions of the federal government, including numerious high ranking government law enforcement officials, as a political weapon to influence a presidential election? You don’t think it’s Earth shattering that numerous American media outlets were useful pawns to both subvert Justice, steal a presidential election, and keep it all hidden from the American people?!?

YOU DONT THINK A GADDAMNED FULL BLOWN COUP D’ETAT ATTEMPT AGAINST THE LEGALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF OUR REPUBLIC IS EARTH SHATTERING?!?!??

Sure, I do. There are also a hundred or two hundred thousand people on the internet who do too. but if no one in our government gives a shite to do anything, does it really matter? Nunes and a few republicans can yell all they want, and they seem to be righteous, but to use a TERRIBLE fricking phrase, what difference does it make at this point if we know that nothing is going to come from it?

TL:DR- I have no faith in our government as a body to hold anyone accountable. That's why I say it's not Earth shattering.
