The problem with the Boomers is they refuse to hand over the potential for wealth and influence that positions of power/leadership bring to the following generations. Their parents did. They should follow that example.

I really find this argument weird.

1. If you can't compete with boomers, that's a you problem.

2. Why do you keep voting boomers into positions of power? You understand it's not boomers doing that, right?

I'm not sure what you mean about our parents handing shite over.

Boomers are the 60's and 70's hippy generation that took over the media and changed the culture to what we have now. They are the one's that have been in control of the government for the last 40 years. THEY STILL ARE. Are the younger generations stupid and suck? Hell yeah! They were raised by boomers. Or us. Who were raised by boomers.

I guess we could blame it on the Greatest Gen for indulging the boomers till they were just hedonistic marxists, but they bought some good will. Boomers did not.

But to act like Millennials and Gen Z are entirely to blame for the state of our country when we haven’t been able to vote for two decades yet is ridiculous

You think boomers are 40 years old?

I think I see the problem here.

At any rate, I don't blame any particular generation for our sad state of affairs. I think we've fricked things up together.

Boomer here.

I'll say this about my kids. If they weren't my kids I'd still like them as friends. I also approve of the ways they are bringing up their children. I suspect that is very common and not all that rare.

Ungrateful? Kids are by nature self-centered. Most of us outgrow that stage of development. Some don't and they are said to be suffering from narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). When it's all about them, look out.

yep. you can point to positives and negatives of every generation, and ways in which they contributed to both the good and bad of our culture now.

I think you've bought into some stereotypes that simply are not true. I'm at the tail end of the baby boom generation, and the "hippy" thing is way overblown.

Moreover, I don't see how today's culture is rooted to the boomers. How is what we see in society today - the woke shite, hip hop, tranny shite, social media influences - how's that on the boomers?

You said the younger generations haven't been able to vote for two decades. Voting age is 18. 20+18 is 38.

The older a person is, the more connections they have and they have had more time to amass wealth. Having those two things gives them a massive leg up on anyone trying to break into politics.

What does it say about you that you can't compete with a boomer?

But the voting power is with people younger than 60, and by a wide margin.

I sort of agree with you about age and wealth/connections, but I also see that as a bit of a copout. So a 40 yo might have a steeper climb, but so what? Nobody said everything has to be fair. A 40 yo with the right ideas and talent will find the money and connections with effort. I believe that.

I havent been posting here long enough to know your politics, but you're sounding very leftist right now, with your oppressed / oppressor line of thought.

Yall shite on the advice the Greatest Generation gave y’all, spent our country into oblivion and sold it off to China. So don’t act like y’all are even in the same universe as the Greatest Generation.

The advice I remember most from my old pappy (WWII vet) was whatever you get in life it will be your doings, your responsibility, don’t expect the government to take care of you….I quickly learned that lesson at age 18 and it’s served me well.

This ^^^ goes over their heads, that’s why I mention in the OP this Marxist/Socialist crap has been 100 years in the making and most of the progressive intellectuals came from Europe after the turn of the 20th century.
