It is horrible that we as a nation continue to use imported products and labor to stimy our 'free market system'. When an item becomes too expensive the solution is not to DUMP a foreign product to alleviate someone's temporary pain. This country had better wake up. I heard a radio segment with the owner of Omaha Beef Company earlier this week. Five or six major slaughter houses in the midwest are closing this year due to the continued decline in the beef herds. Boneheaded acts like dumping huge quantities of foreign products will not help us long-term. We as a nation must stop being fixated with CHEAP and NOW.

And yet I can buy pork and chicken for $2.50/lb.

But, hey, this is totally different from MamdaniMarts.

Why did the herd numbers decline?

Well multiple govt regulators stood idly by and let the input goods turn into monopolies like Cargill, and others, so there's less competition.

awful drought several years ago. There were several posters here that are involved in the cattle business that brought this up as it was happening. We all knew it was coming.

Also if you aren't buying and grinding 4-5$ a point roasts and grinding it yourself, you're essentially eating goy slop.

I am aware of that

I was hoping he could tell me

The suggestion seems to be greed or something.

I remember a mass "Culling" kill of of cows in the US in 2024 based on the bird flu nonsense. U.S. beef cow inventory dropped to 28.2 million head—the lowest level since records began in 1965. Then after all the cows were killed the story changed to cost of water and feed as being the reason.

The last three mass kills done under Biden, Obama and Clinton.

Trumps fault.

Massie fatigue is real. Just like with Tucker and Candace.

Those idiots have no idea.

Look at the herd inventory.

Sometimes high prices can hurt an industry

Plenty of ranchers want to expand here where we aren’t so drought prone but…
How can you expand the herd if no one can afford to buy pregnant cows? Not to mention, almost no one is selling them.
