Here's what happens:

All full-time resident students, and commuting students carrying at least 12 hours, work 15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. In addition, each full-time student works two 40-hour weeks chosen from the weeks when classes are not in session. Resident students who demonstrate financial need may participate in the 12-week summer work scholarship program. Summer work will be credited toward room and board expenses for the following academic year.
A daily record of work hours completed by each student is maintained by the area work supervisor. A cumulative record of the student work hours is maintained by Cash Accounts in the Business Office so students may know the total of their work hours at any time. Work hours cannot be sold, given away, or transferred; nor is cash given in exchange for work. However, limited extra work hours earned over and above the charges for any term are accumulated in an "incidental" account and may be used to offset charges for laundry service and medical expenses at the campus hospital. Students may also purchase milk from the Dairy with extra work hours.

Great school. I’ve interviewed many kids from there for my company and usually come away impressed. I’d highly recommend them, if you’re looking for a new school to recruit from.
They run a great bed and breakfast too near campus that has a killer brunch. Definitely a must visit, if you’re in the Branson area.

They are ready to work that's for sure. With an 11:1 student to staff ratio.... They get more from the classes.
If we could duplicate that across the US, I think we could turn things around in our youth and our debt!

COO has about 1550 students. It is tiny as colleges go. It is a Christian school.
I think how they operate is admirable, but they only service a tiny portion of college students. Most Christian colleges do not use their model.
Is COO producing research that is improving life in the country like so many universities are?

You bring up a good point. I think a lot of the issues people seem to be having with higher education is a disconnect between the idea of a college educating people (with the intent of preparing them to enter the workforce) and a higher ed's research objectives. In this instance I think this school is specializing on the former opposed to the latter. Still, itd be nice for more universities to shift more focus on that goal.

I’m being super-specific here but at first i was puzzled why they wouldn’t have an Accounting major but it looks like it was just omitted from the OP’s list:
They do have the major.
Still would like to see a Finance concentration offered for that business curriculum, though.

I have been there - fantastic place. Had dinner in their restaurant - all student wait staff, chefs, using foods they raised. Excellent meal - fantastic service - great ambience.
Hard Work U. - what a concept - it is a marvel to observe. Really pleasant experience. Everyone super friendly and helpful. Would go miles out of my way to visit there again if I am ever in the area.
This place gives hope for America.

When I was at LSU in the late 50's I took a course called "Rhetoric" - it was essentially public speaking. I think it had something like "Technical Rhetoric" as it's title.

It's a tiny conservative christian school with a homogenous student body and a ton of private funding relative to its size. Any model they employ isn't going to be able to be extrapolated to large elite universities.
