If McCarthy and his allies don't like Scalise, then he definitely should be the guy.

Omg no. This makes me want Scalise if his health permits.

All I've seen on this site is general hatred for Scalise and how he's a shite rep.

Now, since apparently McCarthy doesn't like him, he's the best choice for speaker.

Can't make it up.

At least they're consistent.

Honest question, Bucky - 2 or 3 names of Reps you'd like to see speaker?

There may be a lot of reasons to not like Graves. Not having a college degree is not one.

Haven't really put much thought into it today.

Jordan says all the right things but like most he's all bark and never seems to get much done.

Need someone that will actually make a stand and not compromise on every damn thing.

Compromise is how the dems have gotten us to where we are now. They knew they couldn't do it in one shot so instead they have chipped away for decades.

For better or worse, if we want to actually see if Gaetz has a long game, republicans need to swallow their pride and go with his flow.

He has stated a preference for Scalise or Jordan. I'd like to see either of them get the nod. It will be difficult to judge his actions if it isn't one of them. If it is and nothing comes of it, at least we'll know for sure he was in over his head.

Put him on the limb and let the man cook.

I was not in favor of Gaetz move against McCarthy, but ...

Scalise supported McCarthy, spoke in his behalf, was civil to him. This is a classless, bitch move by McCarthy.

It validates everything Gaetz claimed about the man.

Agree with all of that.

My own congressman has an exemplary voting record and says all the right things, but he comes across as a lightweight. That can be misleading sometimes, maybe he's a bulldog when a camera or mic isn't nearby. I'm talking about Andy Biggs.

I wonder about how principled he is, but Donalds does real well with media.

Jordan is probably our best bet.

WTF? Lots of highly successful people don't graduate college. I left LSU with one semester left because my dad suffered a massive stroke and my mom needed my immediate help with the family business. I went back and finished my degree years later. By then I was running a successful business of my own.

This is stupid fact to smear someone over.

The GOPe aren't going to vote for anyone so they can keep McHenry in as the Speaker of the House Pro Temp. McHenry is McCarthy's ally and also a Bushie.

I'm not bashing Scalise, but he did raise my eyebrows a bit when he voted against cutting CISA funding.

CISA is the monster behind censoring Americans.

quote:

Today, current CISA Director Jen Easterly has expanded the agency’s efforts of securing institutional infrastructure to securing “cognitive infrastructure,” or, put differently, our minds.

According to Easterly, Americans’ “cognitive infrastructure” is “the most critical infrastructure” the state must “protect.”

What Easterly really means, though, is not that the public’s minds are critical to protect, but that the public’s minds are critical to control.

Nah, the Speaker of the House should have been able to graduate college.

Now I’m just plain confused. I thought Scalise was bad? Is he good now?

The hell is going on

i remember in 2015-2016 Scalise saying Trump was toxic for the Republican party and he would not support Trump.
He would rather see 'The Hilldog Bitch' win than Trump.

typical swamp dweller in DC.
