Legal Immigration is not sustainable in 2022 America
No matter how many times you say it, it will never be correct. You know nothing, apparently, about the demographics of this country. Our economy has never, and will never, be able to function without a consistent supply of low and unskilled labor that is supplied via immigration. Second, third, etc. generation Americans have never, do not, and will never fill those jobs in large quantities.
If you want to extoll the evils of illegal immigration, there may be less than 5 people on this site that would disagree. However to pretend like we do not need to have a constant stream of legal immigrants for our economy to function is mind-blowingly dumb.

This is such a weird position to be this passionate about.
I’m not passionate about it. I’m pointing out the absurdity of all this and how most of you would be big mad if this was a Democrat and not a Republican.

I’m an American citizen because my parents were naturally born American Citizens. It literally doesn’t matter where on planet earth I was born. Nothing will change that. I don’t need birthright citizenship. What don’t you understand about that?
You are also an American citizen because you were born in the United States. It literally does not matter who your parents were or where they were from. Nothing will change that. You don't need citizenship from your parents. What don't you understand about that?
Why are you trying to make the two mutually exclusive when they are not?

No, but we would celebrate if you would quit posting on this thread.

So, again, just making something up and forming an opinion about it.

Have you read this thread? To hear a lot of people on here Illegal Immigrants make this county’s great. It’s absurd. Same goes for Immigration period in a country of 330 million people. It isn’t sustainable anymore. Look around you. Look at all the handouts. In 1900 the American population was 76 million people. There were no handouts or welfare state.

Partisan politics is what this is about. So if a Dem wins this seat back in 5 months and I make a thread about it there won’t be anyone mocking me?

We will revisit this in 5 months. I suspect there won’t be the enthusiasm there is now.

A Democrat IS likely going to win the seat back in 5 months. That you don't know that tells me how informed you are on the issue.
I personally would mock you for making a thread celebrating Democrats needing to "flip" a House seat in a district that Biden won by 16 points. I would mock you and your party for those circumstances, yes.

My position is your father shouldn’t be ‘celebrated’ anymore than my grandfather who was born in America and flew 56 missions in WWII. It’s a great story but big deal? Plenty of people have done what your father did. Would you celebrate for me if I were to move to Ecuador and do the exact same things your father did?
We celebrate men like your father and my brother. Sorry that bothers you.
I know my family is not an exception. Plenty of people like him came here with nothing and achieved the American dream.
If you managed to achieve in Ecuador what my father did here, I would give you a fricking medal because it would be a pretty big deal. There is no middle class in countries like that. You are either very poor or the offspring of the politically connected who are the only well off people in the entire country.

Once again, this is a demonstrably incorrect assertion. There is no metric to support this statement whatsoever.

Now let’s do this if I were to be born overseas like many Americans are.

I think our financial situation, welfare state and social safety net are plenty evidence. It’s only getting worse. You realize that don’t you? All those things have been getting worse since about 1980.

What is your point? I don't have any issue seeing that there are two distinct pathways to becoming a US citizen by birth.
What is it exactly that you are hung up on? It is very very simple and not complicated.

Why do you think I brought that up? What are you going to tell me next? That water is wet? Why do you think I posted in a response right below yours that we will revisit this in 5 months? It wasn’t because I thought Ms Flores was going to win. Come on now.

I'm desperately trying to figure out what point you're trying to make, but all I can come up with is that you're foaming at the mouth over Republicans hypothetically not showing the same enthusiasm when a Democrat wins elections as they do when Republicans win.
And your weird and dumb screed about legal immigration being unsustainable.

He wants there to only be one way to be an American citizen and that is by having American citizen parents.

Like many Americans because of my lineage I don't need birthright citizenship to establish anything. It's moot. Doesn't matter one single iota. I'd be an American without it. Do you understand this?
