HUD (which was already backed up) has been cranking out hotel vouchers for the illegals on a massive scale
For a period, the hotels around this area were booked solid for 3 months or more before they'd have a room available.

The storm hit in early October of 2016. They requested a billion dollars in funding 6 months after the storm.
They received over a billion in funding excluding that request.
By September of 2018 the state had only given 2 million out of 236 million of relief funds that were allocated for low-income homeowners.

Sounds like we don’t need FEMA if they can’t manage a fricking budget then.

FEMA emergency funds were authorized in a CR rider.
DHS has been using it for climate change and processing illegals since right after the mid-terms in 2022. They obviously didn't move that money to the secret service, at least not Trump's detail.
Shame on the REPUBLICAN congress. FEMA announced they were underfunded about 2 months ago and no one bothered to pay attention.
