It's a multi-prong approach to trim down the fat arse government we have created! Federal employees are some of the laziest workers God ever created.

I know most people like to hate on federal employees, but there are some talented people that need to be used in more efficient ways.

That's the whole point with DOGE. You don't field dress a deer with a sledge hammer, you do it with a very sharp knife. You don't pound it relentlessly then just walk off, you cut away the fat, gristle, toxic organs, etc. then keep the parts which have utility.

This means not only cutting the dead weight bureaucrats just taking up space, but merging or closing useless programs too.

Well, there's more to it than that chart.

If those people aren't there then there's no one to request money from congress or spend said money.

Programs and people go hand in hand.

Want to eliminate a program? fire everybody running it.
Want to eliminate a group of employees? eliminate the program

Also the net effect of all of these agencies is stifling economic growth.

Permits for this, that, and the other. There’s always a loophole and a workaround, and it always ends up getting done the way it was gonna get done, but it takes forever to drag out through the paperwork

frick your paperwork, none of you federal employees bring any value to anything. There was a time I would at least respect the law enforcement agencies of the feds, but those days are long gone.

Get real jobs and stop killing the country. I hope every fed employee’s guilt keeps them up at night until they get a real job.

this guy gets it. the loss of jobs is the byproduct of everything else.

If people actually listened to Vivek and to Elon, they would know that their's is a two part goal:
1-return needed agencies to their original design. not to what they may have grown into.
2-by streamlining governmental involvement in the things that they must be involved in, then you make the entire economy move along at a much faster pace.

I find it a little alarming that people are cheering for everyday average people to lose their jobs while the guy who is on track to become the first trillionaire wants to "cut the red tape" because he can't get anything done.

I agree the red tape needs to cut to an extent. However the way people are jumping in head over heels gives me pause.

I still remember this board clamoring to cut corporate tax rates until they realized what the corporations were doing.

That’s fine and it’s fine to hang on to those people. There are also a lot of bad employees who aren’t useful, and they should go.

Reduce all funding to foreign countries to approximately zero, slash government fat (there is a ton even at the parish and state levels), invest capital into Mexico and Argentina.

I'm cheering for Northern Virginia to go on a diet. Not sure why you think it's in anyone's interest for our resources to be poured down that hole with absolutely NO BENEFIT to anyone. Let all of those people find productive work. I hear that there are crops to pick and no workers to pick them.

I would bet that some of the HORRIBLE ideas that we pay for came from those federal employees.

Watching the secret language of european butchers????

I don't think Elon would have paid for that. I also dont think that your neighbors, Larry and Marsha that work for the SSN came up with that either.

Let Elon and Vivek hire trusted austerity experts and report back to them.

You’re getting a huge severance package. More than any of us would ever get. Stop whining and update your resume, or take a community college class.

The talented federal employees tend to exist in niche knowledge jobs that wouldn't exist in the private sector. That can be good or bad depending on what department or agency they work for.
