I disagree.. Whether you like it or not, the majority of people are Christians and these little irritating compromises further push the sides to their designated corners. It's human nature whether or not it's right

Now that you mention it, the days of the week all reference ancient Norse religion. We need to do something about that as well.

Disagree all you want. I'm not saying he has to agree with it, but the removal of all religious holidays from the calender makes them equal. The inclusion of some but not others is not equal. Therefore, they are "closer to equality". His statement is wrong.

Spaghetti is an Italian dish. Most Italians are Catholic. Remove spaghetti from school menus.

What they have now is nothing. They have holidays during the correct timeframe for the observed Christian and Jewish holidays but not the Muslim holidays. Equality would've been getting those holidays recognized.

A better argument is I don't f'ing care about equality. Cultural equality is not a virtue.

You're absolutely correct. That is a much better argument.

Do they still play 'Throw the Jew Down the Well' in Khazachstan?

Future school calendars will now list the students' Christmas vacation as "winter break", the Easter vacation as "spring break." Days like Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur would simply be marked "no school for students and teachers."

I'm a little surprised that there are still public schools that use the religious names. We didn't even have Halloween, we had "Fall Fest", and that was in the 80's.
