Kids walk out of class every day for flavor of the week causes. You know what happens? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Then they go back to class and the world keeps turning. You realize this as you get older, and you lose this ideal vision of the world. You realize it’s a cruel place that doesn’t give a damn about your idealistic views, or your causes, or your protests. The world just keeps turning, and there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it. So my advice to you and all of those kids is to enjoy your life, enjoy it to the fullest, because it’s short and it’s precious. Don’t spend it in a constant state of anger, because the world will pass you by in an instant.

I’ve tried to impart this wisdom on a few sky screamers I know in real life. But honestly, if being angry at politics is is what brings you “joy” in life then by all means go march, cuddle up and watch Colbert and the Daily Show and sky scream until you bleed out of your eyes or...wherever
