An anonymous poster on Reddit’s "Am I the A--h---" subreddit said he started a meat-eating club at his job in response to a coworker’s vegan-only club.
He claimed that one of his colleagues started a vegan dinner club exclusively for their coworkers following a vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian diet. Other coworkers “will not be able to join the club,” the poster said the group’s “statement of purpose” read.
In response, the poster claimed that he and some other meat-eating coworkers started a burger and steak club to go out and try new restaurants each week. They only allowed meat-eaters to join. However, members of the vegan club filed a complaint with the company’s human resources department.

Despite the HR complaint, the meat club was approved, the poster claimed. But now the woman who started the vegan club “refuses to talk” to him.

Oh no. The pussy hat wearing prog won’t talk to him.
I’d call that success.

How is it controversial? Why is one dietary club ok but another controversial. fricking liberal Karens

Sounds like A Bronx Tale.
Guy who borrowed $20 from the protagonist always ran away from him afterward in an attempt to dodge repaying it.
His mob mentor talked to him and pointed out that, since the guy is an a-hole and a pest, $20 is a cheap price to be rid of him.

I’ll take “Things that didn’t really happen” for $500

Probably because everybody thought his club sounded better and she lost members (which in her mind equates to power).
It was something she really cared about, and had her identity wrapped up in, and he bested her as a joke.

Yeah, HR siding with him sounds unrealistic.

A club where I can go out and eat steaks and burgers? Where do I sign up?

Conservative vegetarian - doesn’t eat meat.
Liberal vegetarian- doesn’t eat meat; doesn’t want anybody else eating meat, either.
Just the way it is.

Back in the 1990s, I knew a vegetarian named Mary Moon. She didn’t eat meat but she sure liked the bone.

Pin this chart up near your desk.

No, HR siding with him is 100% realistic.
Group A: “We’re a group within these dietary parameters. We go to restaurants that serve food to these parameters. Only people within these parameters may join.”
Group B: “We’re a group within these dietary parameters. We go to restaurants that Serve food to these parameters. Anyone may join.”
Siding with Group A over B opens the company up to liability. HR only exists to keep the company safe from getting sued.

The woke liberal mind is a thing to behold. Instead of welcoming meat eaters, maybe exposing them to some delicious vegan meals they never new existed (if such a thing exists), and perhaps converting a few....they tell them they aren't welcome. Such a big tent

That's just funny. I'd call it an all around win for that guy and the meat club.
Honestly, not a bad idea, either. Going around, trying different burger and steak places. My company has a BBQ channel on Slack where we all share grilling/smoking ideas and tips.

Fox News is writing an article on an anonymous reddit post with no way to validate if this actually happened. That just horrible journalism. Zero integrity.
