re: Man, I'm not a big fan of HB 269 that Ron just signed into law from Israel.

Still waiting for anyone to answer what right(s) this legislation took away.

CTH is frantically looking up libertarian talking points for the first time in 10 years to get some instructions out to our friends

So now if you have a Trump yard sign and an antifa commie destroys your yard sign and spray paints a swastika on your garage door, they’ll catch a felony hate crime charge instead of just misdemeanor vandalism / damage to property
The problem with this kind of legislation is that it is sold in a republican dominated legislature as applying to political opposition or leftist whackos like “Antifa.” But the comments above about the law being vague enough to criminalize ordinary speech activity, even by non-liberals, is correct. While the republican legislature in Florida may think they are only criminalizing left wing thought, they are also criminalizing folks, right wing folks, who support them. This law can be applied any number of ways, including against abortion protesters, street preachers, confederate demonstrations, stop the steal rallies, etc.

Everyone is an Israel cuck now. Even the Squad is too scared to speak out.

BRB, going to CTH to see if they posted on this.

GumboBro thinks you can do whatever you want on private property. So, all the rights, I guess?

Give us one specific example of how this law would apply to criminalize “ordinary speech activity.”

This legislation is 100% being sold as applying to anti-Jewish groups. Antifa has nothing to do with it.

I think every behavior this law applies to was already illegal in Florida. This law just enhanced the penalties.

This is, of course, correct.
It's also the rationalization that led us to a platform of neutrality that saw "neutral" tenets of law be applied in incredibly biased ways against conservatives/Christians/etc.
Trolling aside, I think this legislation is certainly reasonable to debate. But one thing I think should be apparent to conservatives is that evenly-applied law when it comes to left-right is a myth and becomes more of a joke every day. So what you're left with is a conservative-led state that wants to make the state inhospitable to leftists while it still can with hopes of not immediately flipping back to leftist sentiments. Drive them out.
The reality is the same either way, whether via legislation like this or by legislation that the naysayers better reflects 1A protections, the left, when in charge, will punish conservative dissenters. The laws won't help you.

Just checked. CTH did not post anything on HB 269 but they did post an article on Ron taking credit for moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.
Collapsing at Home, DeSantis Travels to Israel and Proclaims He Moved U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, Not President Trump

This should be embarrassing, even for a seriously self-centered politician so filled with hubris and visions of grandeur that he cannot see anything except his own magnanimity. Alas, for the Narcissus Top Gov and the branding organization behind him, no scale of hubris exclaimed is excessive enough.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was in Israel Thursday, doing the obligatory indulgency tour all Republican presidential candidates must undertake before they officially announce. During his pre-planned events, DeSantis took credit for moving the U.S-Israel embassy to Jerusalem.

What precipitated this? Had Jewish people been facing a lot of issues with threats and harassment in Florida? Where and from whom?
Posted on 4/28/23 at 8:02 am to GumboPot
I mean...
"DeSantis is controlled by the zionists"
"DeSantis is taking credit for Trump's big win for Israel!"

I have a little blurb in the OP.
The Goyim Defense League was posting and distributing flyers that contain information about the Jews being mostly employed in the banking, finance, news and entertainment industries and having a major influence in those industries.

It was already illegal.
One part of the law makes it more clear that radical leftists can’t scream conservative speakers off our university campuses.
Tboy klan lost some power there.

There have been some incidents more similar to intimidation. Not like physical violence.
