Authorities have not said which festival he allegedly intended to target, though the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival began Thursday.

NEW ORLEANS — A North Carolina man is in custody in Florida after authorities say they thwarted his alleged plan to carry out a mass shooting at a festival in New Orleans.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Christopher Gillum of Chapel Hill. He was arrested without incident Wednesday evening at a hotel in Destin after investigators used the county’s Flock camera system to track his movements into the area upon learning he was in their jurisdiction.

Deputies recovered a handgun and approximately 200 rounds of ammunition from his hotel room.
Authorities have not said which festival he allegedly intended to target, though the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival began Thursday.
Gillum is being held in the Okaloosa County Jail as a fugitive from justice pending extradition to Louisiana. He faces charges of terroristic threats in Orleans Parish.
Louisiana authorities are leading the investigation. Officials have not provided details about a possible motive.

Henry,
Many years ago, right after Clinton was out of office he was on a late night talk show, maybe letterman? and the host made a joke about some terror act that had been stopped under the bumbling Bush admin.
Only time I saw Clinton get visibly pissed, and he said exactly what you said Henry, he said if you had any idea the number of plots foiled that you never hear about you would thank your lucky stars for the federal law enforcement.

And ?
Kind of pathetic there as you kind of stated my point. Yes they get plenty of crimes before the onslaught but how often do you hear of the trannies, blacks or terrorist.

With what looks like a .380 LCP?
While I acknowledge that would kill a person, that's not the best choice for a mass shooting. In fact behind a revolver, that's possibly the 2nd worse choice of a weapon for that kind of plan. Thank God this guy is an idiot. No wonder he got caught.

Not real sure but it seems like they arrested him and that a gun he had on him or in his car. Im sure the details will come out on specifics and there are probably more with him or a plan for other weapons at another site.

Most likely French Quarter Fest from last weekend which is free and open to the public. Between this zilch and the muslim shitbag from the NYE/Bourbon St attack, it would be nice if these sub-humans would pick something in their own city/state to frick with.

According to CNN, Gillum began his career with the Chapel Hill Police Department back in 2004 as a sworn officer. He resigned from the role in 2019.
Then, in 2024, he returned to the department in a civilian capacity as a non-sworn employee, but left later in the year to take a job elsewhere, according to Alex Carrasquillo, the town’s communications manager.
Gillum is being held in the Okaloosa County Jail as a fugitive from justice pending extradition to Louisiana. He faces charges of terroristic threats in Orleans Parish. Louisiana authorities are leading the investigation.
Former cop. I wonder what his motivation was since it appears he has no connection to New Orleans or Louisiana. Maybe just a depressed nut case that wanted to go out in a blaze of glory.
