Those "magnet elite" parents are the ones who volunteer to work at their kids school on Saturdays painting, cleaning, building, repairing, etc. so that their kid and other kids can have better facilities.

They are the ones who use a day of vacation from work so they can chaperone their child's class on a day long field trip to the state capitol or Avery Island so their child can be safe and learn and experience something outside the classroom.

They are the ones who the teachers call when they need some additional funding for equipment or supplies that their budget won't provide.

They are the ones who ride in a bus for 30 hours going to and from Disney World as a chaperone for their child's senior class trip because if they didn't volunteer to do it, the class could not go.

They are the ones who sit in the hallway all night at a hotel where their child is attending a club convention because the principal of their school says that's the only way he will allow his students to attend the convention.

They are the ones who offer their house for a meeting place when their child has a group project assignment, even taking the other kids home after the assignment is done that night.

Sounds like many of the parents I know that send their kids to private schools.

Your point is? Who cares about fair? If you have the money to send your child to the best private school you do. If SBR has more wealth and can pay for better teachers, better principals, and better learning supplies then by all means let them. There is no 'fair for all' in the world, but simply fair for one.

Sorry Charlie you elites love to pretend you know everything about everybody when you do not.

You have no clue as to who I know, what I do or what I've done in the past.

But keep trying to ridicule people in your efforts to prove you are superior, they see what you are about.

The really has no clue. It's all about him.

He doesn't think anyone else had ever patented a child as good as he has and no one else ever sacrifices for their children but him.

You're absolutely right. I agree with you 100%.

And if I had sent my kids to private school, I would have volunteered to do all those things there as well.

I guess that would have made me "private school elite" in doubleb's lexicon.

But doubleforgetfulb has posted on this board that his kids don't (didn't) go to private schools.

Why do you think that is?

1. I assume you are cool with all of various tactics EBR uses to prevent the ISD? I mean since there is no such thing as fair, Baton Rouge can just continue to make you our bitch.

2. Eventually that line of thinking gets you federal intervention. Not happy with that, but it's just a reality.

3. Most importantly, the point of a public school system is to educate children. Everyone benefits when all children, NOT JUST YOUR OWN, are educated. It helps reduce crime and promote economic development.

Well there you go again. Another fabrication from the board genius.

I'd request a link, but that would just be a waste of time.

But to set the record straight I attended public schools in EBR and my kids did too for awhile . Then we elected to go private so sgain Russian is proven wrong by just another ordinary poster.

Amen brother

At least you stick to the real subject at hand, which is to get the best system for everybody.

I am not, but like I said there is no such thing as fair. To me it's unfair to hold a group of people hostage based on their tax revenue so that another group can benefit. However, a parent in NBR will think it is unfair to let that tax revenue go. What's fair to one is more often than not unfair to another.

So SBR getting better teachers is going to prohibit students in NBR from getting an education? I think the Baton Rouge school system has a lot of problems if one part of the parish/city is dependent upon another.

Wrong again, Mr. Forgetful!

Are you actually forgetting that you posted your kids went to the gifted program at EBR public schools?!

Here's your link to where you posted that. Now who's wrong?: LINK

Both of my kids were in gifted programs and bussed out of our neighborhood.

Help the man out here brother. He is too busy painting parking stripes to understand that someone could attend public school, they could be in a gifted program, and they could elect to leave the system for a private school.

When these elites get it in their heads that the rest of us are pond scum, they lose it.
The man has been shown to fabricate statistics and now he is trying to reinvent me.

ETA I think he just can't understand how parents elect to opt out of his precious gifted /magnet system he cherishes do much and he becomes irrational and can not comprehend some people do not want to be like him.

Any shrinks out there know if I'm right?

You omitted your apology to me for accusing me of making up your statement that your kids attended EBR schools.

In fact, you completely ignored the arse kicking I gave you over your accusation.

quote:

how parents elect to opt out of his precious gifted /magnet system
If your children inherited your mental acuity, you didn't "opt" them out of the gifted program. They flunked out.

Which would explain your animosity towards the EBR school system.
