This is rich coming from the emotional equivalent of a bipolar maniac depressant bitch on a four month bleed after just being dumped by her boyfriend.

Yeah, but better together, right?

Don't worry, Kip's working hard to keep us paying for the leeches in the city as well as our private educations.

Yes. We are trying to bring y'all into our community.

I know you have been misled on this, but St. George will have no say so in the distribution of Federal and State funds that pay food stamps, welfare and low income housing. You can't make being poor illegal. Sorry

A Kenilworth Middle School student has won first place in an international science competition.

AND HE'S BLACK!!!!

quote:

Jalen Scott, an eight-grader whose research into elevated lead levels in the soil at some Baton Rouge schools secured him an invitation to compete in Africa, has returned from the Golden Climate International Environmental Project Olympiad in Nairobi, Kenya with the top prize for his grade level.

Scott, a student at Kenilworth Science and Technology Charter School in Baton Rouge, was the junior division winner of the Wangari Maathai Grand Award, which is named for the Kenyan environmentalist who in 2004 became the first African woman to win a Nobel Peace Prize.

Congratulations, young man!

Obviously!

Now I'm just waiting for Rainey to claim the St George incorporation/ISD effort is what won the award for the kid.

Of course it did.

Obviously it made the EBRPSS up their game to teach this kid.

Kenilworth is a state RSD school not an EBRSS school.

So it's the state who SG pressured into improving.....obviously.

Obviously.

Also noticed not one response to the Ryan Heck info I posted. Their knight in shining armor on the council.

Yes, it is. But the state took it over a couple of years ago and made it a Recovery School District school. It's under the State Department of Education's supervision, not the EBR school board.

Which community is that? LINK You have people willing to kill others because they are not from the same neighborhood, and you talk of a community. And just how many neighborhoods in the unincorporated parts of EBR have your community leaders approached about being annexed into your community? Your community doesn't want to bring anyone into your community. Your community just wants them to send their money to your community.

Why are you crowing about the achievements of a student at a charter school? The EBRPSS had nothing to do with managing the school. It was the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education who granted the charter to operate Kenilworth Science and Technology Charter School to Pelican Education Foundation in 2009. If anything this is more of an indictment of the failure of the EBRPSS.

Rather than get into semantics, I'd rather celebrate the fact that a local kid excelled no matter where he went to school.

But you know the crowd here, if they have a chance to argue the merits of the EBR School system they will grasp at just about anything.

If you dispute what they say they'll call you out for not going to school board meetings or for not going to school every day to tutor the children.

Be careful, get ready for another circle jerk with laughing hyenas.
