But all of you nerds keep bitching that a 3rd party vote is a waste.

It is a waste, period. The only people bitching about starting a third party is mostly those who are dissatified with the Repb. party. Do we ever hear of Democrats wanting to have a third party? Kinda but they want to have a more progressive party than what the Dems are currently. You'll never have enough Dems willing to move to the center and join up with Repbs. who want to move to the center with them. There are many fed up Repbs. now that think we are too "center" for the good of this country.

Let's remember, Perot gave us eight years of Clinton and imo that is where the demoralization of this country was shifted into high gear.

I cannot.

They're the same as Dems at the federal level.

All hail the Uniparty

Because their party is doing EXACTLY what they want them to do. They do it without fail and they do it without remorse. Until Republicans become and opposition party there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to support them. NONE!!!

Make the case to continue electing Republicans?

1. We can debate the height of the speedbump they pose, but Republicans are not the same as Democrats. I'll take Chip Roy, Rand Paul, and Tom Massie over Jamie Raskin, Rashida Tlaib, and Schumer. Granted, there aren't many on the Right to be enthusiastic about, but abandoning them to a congress that's 80% Dem will frustrate them in their work and essentially silences them.

2. If you're going to be able to make real change, even small steps, it'll be inside the Republican party. I think Republican president Donald Trump is an example of this. If he wins in 2024, it'll only be as the Republican party's nominee. Don't delude yourself about "burning it down to build it back up" - that fantasy died in 2020.

Start your party. If ya'll truly believe in what you want for America it's the only solution. When others come around to trumpism the new party will be the tsunami to make the nation over in your image. Start asap. Every minute you wait delays the saving of the nation.

Very simple. Republican party is pretty shitty. But it is not as shitty as the democratic party. Vote against the dems.

When I was a kid, there was this man down the street in our neighborhood who always drove way too fast. So me, my sister and some neighborhood kids decided we were going to stop him so we built a speed bump in the road...out of dirt. When the big moment came, Speedy just drove on the other side of the median divider and never slowed down

Electing Congressional Republicans to slow down democrats feels a bit like that.

Not as simple as I once thought. If a dozen Republicans are always going to be willing to break off to help the Democrats get their agenda done then what is the point of having them.

Meh, those guys/gal aren't nearly as bad. They are just bad according to this board. I mean, Romney isn't actually a Republican any more. Besides, McConnell's work on the SCOTUS will outlast anything negative he's ever done.

I think a reason for some of the disconnect we have with the majority here thinking there isn’t a difference versus myself and a couple others is that most of you live in states that are solidly red and that’s just how it is. I’ve seen California go from red in my childhood / teens to the blue monstrosity it currently is. California is not and has not been red for decades no matter how much SDVCobra tells us otherwise. If you honestly think there isn’t a difference between republican and democrat parties you’ll have a huge eye opening experience if the dems ever get control at the federal level that I’ve witnessed them achieve here in Cali. There won’t be an opportunity to rebuild the republicans nationally. The game will be over at that point.m

ETA: who in the hell is downvoting everyone? Come out of hiding and speak up.

Make the case to continue electing Rinos?

fixed it for you

its the rinos that are the problem, trouble is they are 90% of those who are in office and they run things

until people wake up and understand that its better to not vote for a rino, even if that results in the dimrat winning, than it is to re-elect the grahams and turtles back to office

YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE RINOS BEFORE ANYTHING EVER CHANGES

Republicans are a worthless party in the American political system. They have no purpose and direction, and are not a cohesive whole.

Vote guilt-free. Vote for the other major party, who at least have real things to offer the American people.

We need to have one party rule. It’s more efficient and we don’t have to listen to campaign ads. We just need to give up and hope the Democrats take care of us. Nobody really wants the BS Republicans push.

Only Republicans voted against the Omnibus.

We have to elect the correct Republicans, not just whoever has an R next to his/her name.
