Let's be perfectly honest, the Ryan Plan was and is shite. It will not lower healthcare costs and it will probably cause just enough people to lose their current shitty health insurance who in turn will be broadcast all over the MSM for the next two years (2018 mid-Terms) and then again in the lead up to the 2020 POTUS election.

Healthcare is a LOSE LOSE proposition that can't be fixed with any magic bullet. Let alone a bill put in place by a Republican Congress and signed by a Republican POTUS.

Thus, let the ACA implode and have it still be the albatross around the Dems neck.

I want this to fail as badly as I wanted Trump to dismantle TPP.

Repeal the shite - just repeal it and wait on the replacement until 2019

Let's be perfectly honest, Trump has failed miserably on a significant campaign promise...

I think that is Trump's plan; he expressed many times that it would be more politically expedient to let ACA go to hell and blame the Dems...but that it would hurt the folk. Well, no that is comes down to who gets hurt and who gets blamed...he's gonna let the Freedom Caucus and the Dems catch hell. It would take a couple of years for a competitive private insurance Market to develop after Obama virtually destroyed the existing one, making them pay out the wazoo for risks over and above market economic solvency.

Heard Spicer say that they are moving on to Tax Reform. Tightening the screws.

The GOP is fricked either way. Don't repeal an it will enrage the base. Replace it with this shite sandwich and you will see massive backlash from EVERYONE.

This. The ACA made a bad system worse.

At minimum, repeal needs to happen. There is virtually no political risk in straight repeal as it is as popular a political idea as can be found right now.

Wait...what?!?! This whole ACA was signed into law based on politics. Not One republican voted for it and it was passed without any debate as to what was in it.

Remember: We have to pass it so you can see what's in it.

Frick it...you Dems created this mess time for it to implode on you as your creation.

Yep...sometimes you just have to let it burn to build it back up.

In the short term they will get backlash. But let's not crazy in thinking that the Republican base is going to be so outraged that they are going to vote Dem in the midterms. They will either send the same faces to DC or new ones with an (R) behind their names.

what are you babbling about? If the current policy sucks arse in the best plan you can get the votes for sucks in arse too then you just write what you got until it takes a dump. Only liberals think replacing the shite with shite makes it so that you can say you did something

Yeah..... the GOP has both Houses of Congress and the Presidency but Democrats are who voters will blame.

It can be fixed if both sides put aside politics and work together. A unilateral bill from one party won't work. As the Republicans showed...this will only lead to people saying "let it die" for political expediency...

Conservatives are NOT going to be satisfied with any Government mandated/created System that covers all people with what amounts to Government subsidies. That is Universal Care...Obama's baby.

The Private Company Insurance is on virtual life support; floating around in the ACA regulatory ethers. And it will take a few years - with Trump's market competition strategy implemented - for it to come back. In the interim...Trump's base gets slammed with premium increases out the wazoo. That is political kryptonite for the Mid Terms.

Bottom line. The ACA did what it was designed to do. First, establish the ideal of Universal Care as the new model. And second, wipe out the Private Insurance Market as a precursor to Single Payer.

Obama did this. And if Hillary had been elected, the Progs would have stacked the Courts, opened the Borders wider, finished off the Military, overspent until economic collapse and employed the Climate Change Meme to move toward Global Authoritarian Socialism. We should be damn thankful that a ruined healthcare system is the worst we got. It'll take a while for healthcare to get right. Rocky road but we'll get there.

Of course it can still get done. Hopefully this is what it took to get them serious about actually doing something good vs. just passing something to put a trophy on the shelf. But who is going to take the lead? Trump made a bunch of promises, didn't have a plan and didn't show any leadership during this process.

Agree, Trump needs to back the frick away from this hot button item and let it die on it's own. He should work on the rest of his campaign promises, not sure why but the word from the administration is tax reform is nearly impossible without the health care shite being settled.

Why can't Trump just repeal the Obama executive orders/regulations from the past six years? That would do a lot of good. Consumers would be able to buy actual insurance at an affordable rate. That would bring money into the system that could help cover the more costly enrollees. Basically stop the death spiral. And he wouldn't have to worry about Murkowski and Collins.

He could even leave those EOs in place for gold and platinum plans, or repeal them for plans bought directly from the insurer and leave them for exchange plans.
