don’t agree with the ‘legislative purpose’ requirement.

Well you better take it up with the 68th US Congress. They created the requirement in 1924. Moron.

quote:

Neal predominantly grounds his request in oversight authority of the IRS, assessing whether the agency is fulfilling its duty to enforce the laws fairly against President Trump and whether to revise the laws relating to presidential tax duties.

Then they only need 2018 returns. They likely haven’t even been filed. They asked for six years. Clearly this is a justification with no basis in reality or legitimacy.

quote:

That is as clear as a bell. If the Trump supporters don’t like it, too bad. The shoe will be on the other foot next time.

The shoe is on the other foot right now. Trump can demand the returns of every member in congress. And he should.

Forgive us if we don’t take your interpretation. You are clearly an ignorant moron with zero legal background and likely very little education at all.

They are looking for his form 1099-R. The R is for Distributions from Russia, you know.

Is there a law that requires a potus to make his tax returns public?

What about one that requires him to submit to subpoenas?

Hold on, you are stating that the reasoning behind this is to determine whether or not the IRS is treating him appropriately as the president.

On what grounds do they have to believe they aren’t?

Also, why would they request any tax returns from prior to his presidency since that doesn’t even fall under the explanation you gave?

In what way is it “us vs them”?

I applaud anyone who pays less taxes through whatever loophole they are able.

Paying taxes is patriotic. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a disgrace to our country.

I have a question. Does getting elected to political office somehow repeal the 4th amendment for people?

Why cheer that on?
Because Nadler is CLEARLY using this as another ploy to damage Trump. Any honest person will admit this. Look at the orgamsic way the Left reacted to the unlawful release of Trump's tax info from the 80's. These are mean, vindictive, dumb, evil people. I wouldn't want my tax info in their hands.

Yes all of us working people, try to pay as little taxes as possible!!

It's been like that since my first breath of air, always try to pay the least you can !!

The only people who don't do this, is people who don't pay any taxes at all !!

I always look at it as is this anpower I want to other party to have as well

The answer is no. You cannot request personal information for use as an “fishing expedition” they have no evidence thus far of a crime. If the tax returns were gradual ET, the IRS and its audit system is the correct process. Not Congress with no evidence of an issue.

This is complete and utter bullshite, typical of your posts.

If they have evidence of a crime, provide it to the appropriate authorities. Are you actually moronic enough to insinuate the IRS is supportive of Trump?

The same IRS that blatantly targeted conservative groups for retribution?

GO frick YOURSELF, simpleton hack.

Exactly.

The basis of their argument is to demand the info in order to look for a crime.

That isn’t how this works.

Subpoenas are quashed everyday because they were not legally issued.

Do you even understand that a subpoena is requested by one of the parties and the clerk then issues the subpoena. The court has not ruled on the legality of the subpoena until the court rules on a Motion to Quash?
