re: Maduro is Calling Trump’s Bluff - Now What?

Trump has weighed the cost/benefit consequences of action/non-action down there, in confronting the CCP hegemony re SA. And he has chosen; kinda like firing Kelly and jumping in. Who knows what manner of military action will be undertaken, but there is a lot of options far short of boots on the ground and massive expenditures which are not offset by the costly long run scenarios (CCP on our Border sooner or later) that non-action assures.
Trump should Sub this out to the Israelis; they are very efficient and if Maduro even suspected such an action he'd bail tomorrow. Otherwise he'd get a missile on his desk and it would all be over.

This buildup under Operation Southern Spear (officially framed as a “counter-narcotics” effort) has clear ulterior motives tied to regime change against Nicolás Maduro. There can be no other explanation.
The secondary and tertiary possible effects of our intervention to produce regime change should ALWAYS be thoroughly examined. For example, how does the surrounding region react to the presence of Maduro, vs. what their reaction will predictably be in his absence?
I learned a lot after seeing the abortion that the already "dumpster-fire" middle east became after we forced Saddam out.
I am admittedly agnostic on the geopolitical atmosphere of that area of South America, and any insight would be appreciated.

You tell me what we are doing. Are we doing regime change or drug interdiction? I have no idea.

I just got through reading how cocaine prices are skyrocketing due to what we are doing so it's working.
I was in the US Navy, so I've seen what we can do. We could take out their military and radar also their energy grid while sitting a few hundred miles off shore.

So we are going to do this.

If need be we absolutely can. Venezuela military compared to ours is like a 3yr old fighting the MMA world champion

Yeah I suspect so. We could take out Columbia and Ecuador while we are at it. So why are we doing this to Venezuela? Can we circle back around to Nicaragua or Cuba? This wan't talked about during the election.

Of all stupid threads you have started, this one will be my favorite.
You progressives sure do love to project your thirst for war unto your enemy. It is hilarious to watch.

Good question.
I would hazard a guess, but it would only be speculative.
One thing is for sure…it isn’t simply because he is a socialist dictator, or because he oversees an oil rich nation (especially considering how much that we supposedly are churning out).
I don’t believe that the primary reason is oil, or drugs.

I suspect Trump believes they threw the 2020 election. They just need to tell us that. But then he would be scoffed at by the MSM and democrats. They'd never admit there was a problem with the record breaking (in terms of votes) 2020 election.
And maybe there is a collusion amongst the Russians, Iranians, Chinese and Cubanos down there.

One perfectly placed cruise missile going through Maduro front door may just change his mind

Retired and living off the glorious stock market. There is a reason we are doing this and nobody on this board knows why. It's just a thought I can't shake.
