Fake isn’t the right word. Faulty is a better word.

We’ve undercaptured deaths early on. We’re probably overcapturing now.

If what you are saying is true, then total deaths would not be trending 8-12% higher than a normal year. We are pacing to have 225,000 more deaths than we would normally have.

If 225,000 more people will die in 2020 than would normally die in a non-pandemic year, what else is important to understand?

I understand people being desensitized to how many positive cases are reported, but at the end of the day.....if you have 225,000 more deaths than you would normally have, that is a real pandemic.

The US is already at 164,000 more deaths than a normal year.

Has to be police killing blacks. That's why it's safe to riot.

Can you tell me the increase in drug overdose, suicide, and murder? Things that have been linked to the shutdown?

Not sure on increases in those stats related to to the lockdown, but I live in a city with a republican mayor, in a state with a republican governor, in a country with a Republican administration being guided by a health task force appointed entirely by my republican elected officials. Every decision regarding when to lockdown, what businesses to lockdown, and when to reopen have been made by my elected republican officials.

So I’d imagine what you are saying is an increase in death rates related to the decisions to lockdown and it’s economic impact which have been made entirely under local, state, and federal republican leadership are also a failure of those elected officials and their leadership?

They just want to pull more false positives because that’s all that the “asymptotic cases” BS is.

I work in a nursing home — we don’t “normally“ have 20 people die within 2/3 months. But you know what??

God bless them - many are better off than being in the condition they were in. I mean that. I miss them but for them, I’m glad they’re at peace.

I'll give you that if you admit that Trump isn't making any decisions personally and relying on doctors of the task force that have their own agenda.

However, if you're not sure on increases in those stats related to the lockdown, how about just overall increase in those stats?

Here are stats for Baton Rouge:

2020 EBR Parish Homicides to date (as of 09/10/2020): 90
2019 Homicides - 97

2020 Fatal Overdoses (year to date - 09/10/2020 - 172)
(several more cases pending toxicology testing at this time)
2019 Fatal Overdoses - 126

In 2020, BR is averaging 1.03 deaths per day due to homicide or overdose. In 2019, the average per day was 0.61. That's an increase of 69%. How many of those people would still be alive without the shutdown?

So are we just supposed to get tested every fricking day? I have no symptoms today and should get tested, but what about tomorrow, and the day after?

This shite is so fricking stupid. I'll need to be hospitalized with symptoms before I have them shove a q-tip into my anal canal through my nose.

That’s not just Baton Rouge. Cook County, IL has seen a 13% increase just in suicides. St. Louis city has two less murders year to date than we had all last year (192 this year so far, 194 last year). Fresno, CA had 17 suicides in June this year. St. Louis emergency workers used Narcan 246 times in just March and April this year. Double the number used in the same time frame in 2019.

72,000 Americans died of overdose in 2019. 2020 is tracking for an increase of between 10-20%.

So while it’s interesting to throw out excess deaths, I think we’ll find that many of them are influenced by the lockdown. It’s not all the virus.

STOP GETTING TESTED YOU IDIOTS.

If you aren’t feeling well then stay home for a few days. If it gets bad, go to the ER. Simple as that.

They just announced a free “testing event” in my county for this weekend.

They are promoting it like the god damn circus is coming to town
