We are starting a small fashion company and are having that exact issue (manufacture in Texas or Europe).

The tariffs and customs duties are a big factor in our dilemma.

Don’t be dumb. Everyone spends frivolously on something. Hobbies, collections, memorabilia, traveling, a boat, hunting trips, whatever.

We can afford to drop the cash when we want something because our income far exceeds our spending. Keep your sanctimonious bullshite to yourself.

As soon as AF1 departs for DC, they'll be bringing in illegals from the Valley.

A plan for 1k in 5 years.

Let’s wait and see how many actually are created.

You coming around. Get a coat.
At least they ARE coming back under DJT with LOWER Taxes and BETTER Business Environment.

Grab a coat get on the train. Up to a thousand jobs in 5 years is better than losing Millions jobs under BHO.

This is from 2009 - 1 year after BHO took office from BLS!

"The U.S. has lost 2.2 million jobs since President Barack Obama took office. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the total number of jobs nationwide fell from 134.3 million at the end of January to 132.2 million at the end of May.

The unemployment rate now stands at 9.4 percent, up from 7.6 percent at the end of January.

“I think my initial measure of success is creating or saving 4 million jobs,” said President Obama on February 9.

Monthly job losses reported by the BLS are as follows:

Feb: 651,000
Mar: 663,000
Apr: 539,000
May: 345,000
Total: 2,198,000

“President Obama demanded that Congress spend hundreds of billions of dollars to stimulate the economy,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. "On Friday, February 13 Congress approved a disgraceful trillion-dollar spending and debt package under the guise of economic stimulus. Since that date at least 1.5 million jobs have been lost in America.”

“Spend more money. Have fewer jobs,” continued Norquist. “Let's stop this madness.”

Will this be for the generic stuff LV puts out or the custom pieces? The custom works that Louis Vitton puts out are regarded as the best there is for leather work. This would be huge for leather craftsmen in the US.

I read an article about a year ago about LV craftsmen. Most of them were successful in other careers and left the industry to find a passion and something different. Louis Vitton invested in these people and developed them into master craftsmen for leather products.

What?
It’s because the ones sold there are made in Paris and part of EU. You are also reimbursed the taxes. Most European luxury brands are cheaper in EU than US.

When I saw this thread, I fully expected the facility to be located in one of the counties along the Rio Grande River. I was surprised to see that instead it is located near the Sabine River, in Jefferson County (Beaumont).

Either way you he is hoping to take advantage of cheap labor from a nearby, third-world country, right?
