The fact that we keep the brain dead bodies of politicians on life support just to get past an arbitrary date, in order to keep a certain vestige of power, is a sad state of affairs. The absolute state of moral decay in our political environment is staggering and reaching new lows.

PS - I'm just glad that we have a man of integrity like John Thune who will stay on top of this.
