because Manchin WON'T run in any primary! He would run as a 3rd party in the general election.

I tend to agree. The No Labels people have come out and said that they won’t run a candidate if it’s going to benefit Trump.

I’m not convinced that a Manchin third party run would be beneficial to Trump and detrimental to whoever the dem nominee is.

This is a classic Manchin play to get something he wants from the DNC like we’ve seen him do in the past.

Joe falls for that ever time. The Dems promise him something in exchange for his vote and then renege. He gets out maneuvered every time because he’s a “moderate “.

Hell! I'm not saying that I'll vote for him, but a TON of people will!
I would't vote Biden over Trump, but I might vote Manchin over Biden and Trump. Maybe not. It would probably be a close call

The question is whether Manchin as a third party candidate has the ability to gather enough electoral votes to keep both Biden and Trump under 270. If so, it goes to the House, and he would likely be the compromise candidate (top 3 electoral vote getters are eligible). The VP is chosen from the top 2 VP candidates, which would likely be the Republican, since it provides a balance to the ticket plus Harris is an idiot.

I don't see any path for any third party candidate to exceed 0 electoral votes

According to economists there is a 70% chance we will be in a deep recession within a year.

Name just one. I watch business news all day long. Yet to hear the word “deep” when describing any possible recession.

And Trump ain’t winning regardless of how many candidates flood the field. A Trump nomination is a win for Biden.
