Well, the plane wouldn't have been right in front of it until they hit in looking at the video. It would have been going 150+, so it would have been well to their left.
Saying that, it had it's landing lights on so kind of hard to miss it with even a modicum of situational awareness.

You're free to look up other response videos like this if you'd like. You don't see the sheer number of emergency vehicles. The fact that it's being reported as a military helicopter helps explain that. That makes it a huge arse deal. Crazy stuff.

Could some people have survived a fall into the river? It doesn’t seem impossible. Hopefully there are at least a few.

Someone fricked up
Since airliners follow a very set flight pattern coming into the airport, the Blackhawk was probably out of place and might not have been on the commercial aviation net.

Assuming they survived the impact, the explosion, were lucky enough to survive the impact on the water, and then able to find their way out, yes. And then they’d be in a fight against time in freezing cold water.
