The prosecutor won’t go to trial.

The purpose of the arrest is simply to try and prevent other law and order citizens from defending themselves from leftist terrorist groups like BLM.

But it’s too late. The pendulum has already started swinging the other way.

From the video I saw, it looks like he completely disengaged until he was run down.

You always come across as small and insecure, and it’s because of backhanded jabs like this.

Just man up

And actually say what you think, instead of hiding behind slights like this.

Most posters here just want a pep rally, where everyone is wearing the same team jersey and chanting the same slogans. A handful like to engage in actual analysis. This thread was directed to the latter group.

No, I would have no problem admitting that the kid was wrong if he were.

any reasonable person can see from the video that he was being attached. Kicked in the head, skateboard to the head. HE HAS THE RIGHT TO DEFEND HIMSELF.

C'mon man. It's obvious Hank is an older dude, there is nothing backhanded about calling him "young Rittenhouse".

Ugh...you made me defend Hank the Aggie.

Slightly different question, because ownership governs whether he had the RIGHT to use "deadly force" (whether actual or "implied") in defending the property.

If he owned the property, he would arguably be justified in pointing the weapon and saying "stay away from this car lot." If he did NOT own the car lot, the argument that he had a such a legal justification is MUCH weaker.

Again, KR was only in the car lot because Mr.ShootMeN**ga! chased him there while trying to set the kid on fire. I don't think the kid was defending the lot at all. LINK

My problem with your argument: he didn’t shoot anyone in defense of property. In fact, he was in full retreat away from the property and was being chased by the mob. At that point, it’s self defense from bodily harm; the property angle seems irrelevant here.

AS to the confrontation in the street (involving kung-fu guy, skateboard guy and amputated arm guy), you are 100% correct.

As to the earlier confrontation in the car lot (involving Molotov guy), the answer is not yet nearly so clear.

Correct.
It's nearly inconceivable that a punk-thug would attempt to chase down, ignite, and attack someone armed with a rifle. He was betting the kid would cower from shooting, then he and his buds would beat Rittenhouse to a pulp. He miscalculated badly.

It is hard for Hank, or anyone, to believe that's the way things went down . . . until they see the video and realize that actually is the way things went down.

this video shows the kid talking about being there to protect a business, his MEDIC BAG to help people and the gun to protect himself bc he's running into harms way.

so what kind of BS are you going to spin from this now??

Kid was RUNNING AWAY from them. He was protecting himself. If he wouldn't of had that gun more would have jumped on him.

GFY Hank

He should not have been armed at 17.

He had every right under the law to use deadly force if he had a reasonable fear for his life.

The question about protecting property is almost seperate unless you can prove he shot someone in order to prevent a property crime from occuring. My understanding is they tried to attack him personally. This will be a question of self defense.

Hank I know you are juggling a bunch of balls here, but for the third time KR was only in the car lot because Mr.ShootMeN**ga! chased him there while trying to set the kid on fire. I don't think the kid was defending the lot at all.

Thanks. I've not seen that particular video. We can see Rittenhouse running across the front part of the car lot, but I cannot see WHERE he came FROM ... the left part of the lot OR off premises.

Again, I have seen representations that he had some direct relationship with this location. Maybe not. Still a lot of facts to be developed.
