Good call. It would be totally different if Trump had written multiple bestsellers about deal-making and negotiating where he laid out all of his best practices and tipped his hand to the tactics he employs every time.

Straw man.

Unlike you, I don't make up ideas and assign them to people. I just respond to what people actually say, and a helluva lot of them, you included, like to pretend they know exactly what's going on here until they're asked for specifics. Then all of a sudden we get "well, it's multi-faceted".

In 2 trading sessions, it blew back out almost to 4.5%. That constituted one of the single biggest backups in 10 year yields of all time.

Why do you think this happened? It was before the 90-day hold announcement, right?

I don't think any (of what I posted/saw posted) was made up. Bessent and others raised awareness of a multi-faceted effort.

I think this was also stated. And it's not hard to believe, right? Something as all-encompassing as trade policy probably has more than one objective.

I think it was also pointed out that the strategy/plan was risky and somewhat of a hire wire act - "trying to thread the needle" - kind of what you're left with when you try to do something, anything, any little thing, counter to more than two decades of absolute clownish fiscal policy. And yes, Trump was in that clown car for four years.

When 10 year yields fell briefly to 3.85%, it looked like maybe they were threading the needle. In 2 trading sessions, it blew back out almost to 4.5%. That constituted one of the single biggest backups in 10 year yields of all time.

I think the money pouring into the bond market took the Federal Reserve off guard and that's why the 10 year dropped. The Fed's Fund Rate is 4.33%. It takes a minute or two for the FR to release the assets from their balance sheet to their Primary Dealers to sell more treasury bonds on the market and lift the 10 year note yield back up to parity with the Fed's Fund Rate (4.33%).

If the yield on the 10 year gets too high, the FR will print and buy the 10 year to get it close to 4.33%.

This is how the FR maintains their stated Fed's Fund Rate goal. It's not just a stated magic number. The FR has to buy and sell bonds as needed to achieve that number.

The good news is if the bond market it forcing the FR to sell (to raise bond yields) this is great news because it is deflationary. The FR burns the cash they receive (minus expenses) from bond sales...removing currency from the economy.

Whats funny is the same posters that didnt give a shite what Biden was doing, suddenly screech that Trump doesnt know whats hes doing

Can you even imagine the pretzel they had to twist themself into to criticize Trump, after 4 years of Biden/Harris?

Just shut up and take the "L"

Probably the most dishonest trend here is assuming that those who dare to criticize Trump are somehow Biden supporters. That's not the case and you know it. But you choose to lie anyway. It's despicable

The line I quoted was made up.

Not at all. I don't question the existence of a complex plan, I'm laughing at the people who claim to know what it is who end up contradicting themselves every other time they post.

When your best defense is "Biden was worse."

I have not seen one single poster on this board claim Biden was a good president. Who are these people defending Biden that need to be constantly called out?

Does Trump even claim he has a plan, or is that something MAGA people made up?

It's something that non-MAGA kept/keeps asking MAGA.

And yet the only person to respond to you so far is a huge Biden supporter

And thread after thread of complaints about Trump are from known leftists, or former DeSantis supporters. Ya know the guys that chose him in hopes of knocking off Trump

So that is the case, and we do know it

Yes, it was before. My opinion? There was a least some forced selling (including HFs out of the so-called "basis trade"). Additionally, I think China has pulled out all the stops to defend the currency, but they don't have infinite firepower.

What was the plan last four years? To destroy America? Mission accomplished. Take your bleeding vag and go away.

In fairness, it has been equal parts MAGA claiming this was the plan even though they still don’t know exactly what the plan is and Team TDS claiming it positively won’t work and was mishandled even though they don’t know the plan. It’s both sides.

This is why the need for each side to “win” every day is ridiculous. Global trade policy isn’t won or lost in a day.
