Local mask mandate tops state mandate

What a choreographed political **** storm! Alabama’s Governor Ivey is set to lift the mask mandate this Friday and our idiot Montgomery mayor (as well as the Birmingham Mayor) gets the commission last night to pass a LOCAL mandate to require masks. I guess I will take my tax dollars to Pike Rd. to shop at Publix and then to the beach (FL) for two weeks of freedom. Maybe I will just go ahead and move to Florida.

She actually rescinded the orders today, but power hungry mayors will not relent. My patronage will only go to cities and municipalities where there aren't any "mask required" signs.

I am on vacation in Florida and it is the worse mask compliance I’ve seen, yet. Nearly 100% in stores, and venue workers telling our kids to get the masks up over their noses. I’m ready to get back to Georgia. This crap is here to stay in some areas, apparently.

Just refuse to wear it unless you absolutely have to go in a private business that requires it

We have a place on 30a and we do not wear masks when we are there. Hardly anyone else does either. Some retail workers do but they don’t require us to!

Memaw doesn't have the guts to tell local officials to F off with their mandates.

I went to FL twice so far this year. once to Orlando and once to Panama City Beach. Both were during this period of no FL mask mandates.
Orlando was a masked-covidian haven where everyone had to wear a mask everywhere all the time. Not shocked.
PCB had signs up on 70% or so of the businesses that a mask was required and almost all had employees wearing masks but nothing was being enforced. I went the whole week only putting a mask on once to go into Ron Jon.

Where in Florida? South Florida, definitely, here in NW Florida I've been told one time in the last 6 months to please wear a mask and this was in small boutique where the manager said they have an employee who is high risk.
There are plenty of signs to wear a mask, but almost no compliance. Even some of the restaurant workers dont have them on.

My parents live in a small town in central Mississippi. In June of last year the mayor decreed that all restaurant lobbies must close at 9 pm and drive thrus at 10pm. Clubs were still allowed to stay open until 3 am.
