It was a dumb political stunt to please Trump. These MAGA people think that all those that voted for him did so because they liked him. We voted for Trump because he wasn't Joe Biden. If I had to do it again, I would write in a candidate.

Here's the deal. Regardless of whether or not you like Trump, he is still very popular among Republican voters. The man broke records when it came to votes in a Republican primary, and in spite of losing, still received 75 million votes in the general election.
Cheney represents the GOPe. The GOPe brought us Bush, Cheney, Romney, McCain, as well as two terms for Obama. There's a reason why Jeb Bush bowed out of the 2016 primaries after only three states. It's also the same reason why Romney was recently booed when giving a speech to the Utah GOP Convention. Not only do they cater to the left, they are also Country Club Conservatives. "I know what's best for you." Voters don't want that anymore. If anything, this unifies the Republican party because it ousts RINOs. If people are going to vote for a liberal Democrat because they don't like what the Republican has to say, they were not Republicans/conservatives to begin with.
