And people totally wouldn’t like, lie, about that right?

I mean, surely we shouldn’t check and make sure people are who they say they are, right?
Of course people can (and do sometimes) lie. FFS (and for the 45th time), I support Voter ID. I was responding to a specific factual question by a specific poster.

How large...exactly how many blacks do not have the opportunity to secure an ID.

Good Lord, you are clearly bright enough to understand that the Dem proposition is NOT that NO Blacks can obtain a government ID, but rather that a larger percentage of Blacks than Whites lack the opportunity to do so.

The Dem proposition is that it makes it so much easier to cheat if you remove that obstacle of having to produce ID

Pefect example of why you're a pos. Your very 1st post starts out with you ,AGAIN, putting people down because you think you're intellectually above everyone else. I think you do this because in real life you're looked down on in your profession and considered weak and probably laughed at. Its actually pretty sad that a grown man has to use this site to try and validate his own self.

The Republicans are trying to take away YOUR right to vote, don't let them take away YOUR rights.

That's the ads, the talking points. "Your", not "some", not "only people who try to vote multiple times", not any definition whatsoever.

The same study found that among the poorest Americans (under $25k per year) Blacks are approximately twice as likely as Whites to lack either a driver license of passport (the most common forms of photo ID).

No one is saying you need a drivers license or passport to vote.

But the question should be, why do poor blacks get a driver's license or passport at half the rate as poor whites?

Is it systemic racism where government employees refuse Ids to blacks, or is it a cultural thing? Its def not access. Because poor rural whites would have less access than poor inner city blacks.

The truth is that liberals are just racist.

Let me guess, the reason for this is slavery right? Lol. What an idiot. Anyone in America can get an ID if they really wanted too. The issue with most that don’t is either they lack intelligence or are too lazy to do so. In either case, that’s more than enough reason to keep people like that from voting. Probably better off if they didn’t.

Personally, I suspect that this particular disparity is more cultural/environmental than anything else. They just don’t NEED those documents for their everyday lives, so they do not undertake the effort to acquire them.

So the question becomes whether they should be compelled to undertake that effort in order to exercise a right guaranteed under the 15th Amendment. I think it is a valid question to ask, even if my personal opinion is that the burden is fairly minimal. Of course, lots of folks said the same about small poll taxes 100 years ago.

Of course Hank. You know the rulings. You would laugh at someone saying you shouldn’t have to have an ID to buy a gun. Is there ever an argument where you don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth?

No. If we must assign the blame to a single item, I think that the Great Society programs are the greatest single culprit. Of course the issue is far too complex to attribute a single cause.

Or even two.

That pesky Constitution disagrees.

No argument from me. Of course, I also think that 98% or more of the population lacks the intelligence to exercise the franchise responsibly.

Please elaborate, given that I have already opined that reasonable Voter ID does NOT constitute an unreasonable burden upon exercise of the franchise.

Economic factors don’t limit anything, analysis of the data may show a correlation between being poor/being black/not having a photo id, but those factors haven’t been proven to cause it or limit blacks fro getting an ID.
One could as easily argue that listening to rap music limits people’s ability to obtain ID, it’s pretty obvious fans of rap music are more likely not to have an ID than those who dislike it.
Correct. By this logic roads are racist, because fewer Black people have drivers licenses. Thus, anyone that wants more or better roads is a racist trying to oppress Black people.

^ thst is how stupid the entire IDs are racist argument is.

10 charges of hit and run.
No license
No registration
No license plates
No insurance
Speeding
DUI
Failure to stop (choose a number of stop signs and traffic lights.)

Charge for a white kid? over five thousand and loss of license for a year.
Charge for a taco bender? $35 Group pools their money to pay the fine .....goes out into the parking lot, get into the same car, no plates, no insurance, no license and drive home....back to the farm....ID doesn't mean a thing.

You suspect you have won a debate on the merits when the peanut gallery starts hurling Aggie comments or comments about one’s sexuality.

When they hurl BOTH (especially in the same post) you KNOW it.

Has nothing to do with it. Poor minorities have the exact same opportunity to obtain an ID as poor honkeys.
