Progressive, militant, activist, are exceptional organizers and this is without question.

Why should they not be bussing all these blacks in droves to the numerous DMVs all over the land? Truth is 99% of these people already have identifying documentation in hand for other reasons.

The gist of this is cheating and cheating to a militant/progressive is an inalienable right in their minds.

You take away their ability to "cheat & deceit" and they feel it is voter suppression and disenfranchisement.

Clown world.

$1.9 trillion Covid deal (with about 20% really going to COVID relief). You'd think they could have worked in a couple of $Billion for a **FREE** National ID system?? Ya' think??

Is voting a sacred right? If so is it not worth a modicum of effort to secure and maintain the integrity of the process?

I believe I have seen where you agree with the above. I am simply tired of seeing you defend their position of victimhood as an excuse.

There’s roughly 13,000,0000 African Americans that receive snap benefits today. There’s 41,000,000 African Americans in the US. That’s 31.7% of African Americans on Snap. There was no error but I give you an A for deflection. So again, do you actually believe 25% of AAs don’t have an ID?

It’s 25 percent of VOTING-AGE blacks are estimated to have no ID, according to that claim.

Let me help you... That means no one younger than 18. No children.

But you are using food stamps? That includes loads of kids? Come on, man!

quote:

Half of those people receiving SNAP benefits are children younger than 18

LINK

I’ll play along further with your dishonest numbers.
quote:

Nearly 9 million African Americans receive food stamps each month. This represents a quarter of the African American population.

This is from 2007

I have no reason to believe that the percentage of AAs on food stamps — HALF of whom are younger than 18 and therefore are not germane to the proposition that one-quarter of VOTING-AGE blacks lack ID —has grown from one-quarter to one-third in 14 years.

To your “33 percent of all blacks receive food stamps.”
quote:

The Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program provides food stamps for almost 47 million Americans. Of those 47 million people, 43 percent of them are white and 33 percent are black.

Again, that’s 33 percent of the subset, not the totality

Maybe you should start providing links for your claims. And maybe you should try not to use numbers that aren’t completely germane to the subset presented. It’s dishonest.

Do you doubt blacks who are on food stamps would all get an ID if it were a prerequisite of getting them?

It might already be one? I don’t know. I’m just trying to illustrate, if it’s important enough, a person will find a way.

You failed to read my post. I’m sorry, but I can’t help you other than HALF OF AAs ON FOOD STAMPS ARE CHILDREN WHO ARE NOT GERMANE TO THIS ORIGINAL ARGUMENT. Carry on.

Hank seems halfway insane for arguing with you folks who clearly don’t read or misunderstand what you read. I hope to not get to that point. I’m about to go mow my grandmother’s yard.

Then they shouldn't need an ID to purchase a gun either. They probably need more protection from crime than white folks.

It's about proportions. The same thing conservatives bring up when you want to talk about representation in violent crimes yet you conveniently leave it out this time.

Why is it always the case that voter laws that get passed specifically target the ways and areas in which black people vote?

The issue with access to forms of voter ID are specifically about barriers that can prevent poor people in urban areas. Things such as DMV access, wait times at said DMV, paying the fees needed for certain documents, having time allotted to go through the process. These are all easier for people not in the low income bracket.

David Hogg tweeted a few days ago that voting should be as easy as buying an AK. So I guess he’s for background checks and ID’s in voting? Who knew?

Why are black people voting any differently than the rest of us? Are you talking about ballot harvesting?

Black people cant wait at the DMV like the rest of us? Why is that? And an ID is $11. Most major urban areas have many different DMV locations, also open on the weekend and online.

Acting like black people cant do basic, common things is very racist.

If that’s true, then why aren’t Democrats making as much of an effort to improve access to these services ? They could simply say - ok with voter ID, as long as we set up mobile ID stations in low income polling locations.

If that’s the only time lower income households will ever need an ID, let’s give them one. Rather than ask people to bring birth certificates, let’s pull up the data right then and there. Would Democrats go for that?

Dude, before you go off on lecturing people about intelligence as a requirement to vote, you might want to learn to spell too.

In this country we allow and encourage dumb people to vote. Millions are spent on ad campaigns to encourage the dullards to show up and vote.

We even give free rides to them.

Would you be opposed to issuing ID cards to all high school freshmen who don’t have them as part of the admission process? Let’s get them some ID so that they can be best equipped to function at a higher level later in life.

Any reason to oppose this?

Well, since reviewing this thread, it has occurred to me that you're not much of a constitutional scholar. To show good faith and allow you to redeem yourself, I will allow you the opportunity to name exactly where in that "pesky Constitution" it says citizens have a right to vote. (I'll await your response, but not too long, since I'm an old fart without many years left.)
