He was 71. He was in politics for too long, obviously, but he didn't die of old age like McConnell.

He was only 71. Plenty of folk work at that age

By the way, the same people who blame Israel for every death, assassination, etc will not be engaging in similar paranoia blaming Iran or Gaza loons for Graham’s death

Interesting how that works

If someone like Ro Khanna or Massie died of a heart attack, people like Bunk Moreland would be blaming Israel

I don't blame Israel for every death, but this thought did cross my mind just a bit ago. Iran is currently making threats against the POTUS and if he is a target of theirs Graham almost certainly is as well.

I wonder if this will be one of those things where we find out later on that he had some cancer or some shite, but they kept it quiet the entire time.
That's what my grandma pretty much did. I brought her to the hospital at 80 and she never came home. I guess it is a thing. Must be an independent spirit idea.

Wow. Thought this announcement was coming soon for Mitch McConnell, did not expect this.

Anybody know what happens next as far as his seat in Congress? Does the governor appoint someone or is there a vote?

He was at work just yesterday. People described him as being active and showing no signs of any illness.

NBC is reporting Graham died of cardiac arrest. Someone called 911.

Graham lives alone. I wonder who called 911?

NBC is saying a cardiac arrest.

But tons of things could have led to that.

I have no clue. I know nothing about South Carolina politics. He has been in office a long time. Hopefully someone who can help push through the voting act that stops cheating.

The Governor will have to appoint an interim and then they'll hold a special election in November.

Isn’t it a bit strange to refer to a heart attack/stroke as an “illness”?

Absolutely but you see it sometimes. Also could be a cover for a suicide.
