Why the dramatic post?

Lindsey Graham Dead

Why not?
Lindsey Graham passes away?

Sounds like announcing someone had been murder or suicide.
Agreed, he is not everyone's cup of tea regarding his neocon politics, the crazy far right hates anyone that doesn't diss Israel, of course the prog left commies despise him....But I thought we had basic respect and decency? I imagine the OP will never change it.

POSSIBLE FUNERAL PLANS Sen. Tim Scott addressed on Wednesday when funeral services for Graham may be held by saying it is a complicated process as many foreign leaders would like to attend. A service will not take place this week and may not for a couple of weeks he said.

Funeral services for the late South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham are being delayed as planners coordinate the attendance of numerous national and international dignitaries. According to Sen. Tim Scott, the service will not take place this week and could be pushed back by a couple of weeks.

Key Planning & Memorial Details:Washington, D.C. Service: Expected to be held at the Washington National Cathedral. An offer for Graham to lie in state has been made.South Carolina Services: A separate memorial service is anticipated to take place in his home state of South Carolina days after the national service in Washington.

Global Attendance: Planners are working to accommodate the schedules of many foreign leaders, NATO allies, and global dignitaries who want to pay their respects. The exact timeline and specific venues for the official services are still being actively ironed out. Updates will be available via news outlets such as WLTX News 19.
It was also reported Tim Scott of SC nominated Trey Gowdy to replace LG, and Gowdy is not interested. So there is this good news...

he’s dead

Doesn’t really matter if you say “passed away” or he’s dead?

Strange isn't it how two words that mean the exact some thing can have one treated differently than the other.

I find it strange that otherwise seemingly sane and logical people have a problem with the use of the term dead but somehow think it is ok to say passed.

I imagine in another 75 years people will stop using the word passed in favor of the term dead because passed now has negative connotations that dead no longer has but use to, way back in 2026!

I agree with your point but to me, passed implies passed from this life to another and dead implies final.. no afterlife. But in today’s world NO One gets this nuance so your point stands.

I understand and have no issue with the phrase, passed away. Like I said it means the same thing. I only brought it up because of people being offended by the dead person being called dead.

I will let you in on a little secret. It is "used cars"... not "pre-owned". lol
