Yes, but there's a difference between a board that is just a free for all and a board that is moderated.

I make no bones. Yes, this board is primarily conservative. I don't deny it.

I don't believe you will find a better board than this.

I wonder what that feels like as a liberal on this board.

You're seriously comparing getting downvotes on this forum which means nothing, and getting downvoted on reddit which hides your threads?

In college at UA I would routinely comment on articles written by the leftist writers in the Crimson White student newspaper. I became so notorious as the only conservative commenter(and likely reader) that the writers would actually start to mention me in their columns. One eventually wrote an entire opinion article about me calling me out for being a disgusting conservative. It was one of my proudest days.

I know you asked liberals but I have an account on
straightdope.

The election board will let you post as long as you are civil. 'Being a jerk' is something that can get you banned. Do not call anyone stupid or other personal rips. They have another board called the BBQ pit for that.

Oh and they have a repeal the 17th Amendment thread going on the Great Debates board.

Dude, DU banned a want and Rex for being too conservative... think about that.

Liberals get downvoted to oblivion here. Both forums are just echo chambers. No real exchange of ideas goes on just confirmation bias

Which does what exactly? Does it affect their ability to post? Maybe that's a TD premium thing I guess.

Yet here you are, posting in this echo chamber and completely free to do so without repercussion. The same can't be said for /r/politics.

Just stating the facts bruh. Yeah, Reddit has different forum rules but I see the same tribalism on r/politics that I see here.

I'm not denying that. What I'm saying is that there are no repercussions for going against the echo chamber here. There are on /r/politics.

This place doesn't have as much "post freedom" as you think. Rules are enforced strictly against liberals and loosely against conservatives and since admin decisions and bans aren't public it's pretty easy for people to pretend otherwise. Hell if you ask someone here to name liberal regulars chances are they're going to reference several posters who have been gone for years.

If you want an equivalent to this place go to the politics forum of a tech board, since politics is similarly incidental to tech as it is to college football with inverse political demos. Ars is one. AnandTech is another. You won't get banned there for being a conservative but they'll probably be a bit more strict on what is and isn't "trolling." Which is all you can expect from a place where the politics boards exist mainly as a quarantine measure.

I agree, but r/the_donald engages in the same banning tactics as r/politics does.

TigerDroppings.com/rant/politics is a political message board that is shoehorned into what is essentially a college sports website. There are plenty of message boards that are pretty much the same, but with a base of users that strongly lean to the left.

I don't post there, but the political board at gamefaqs comes to mind. It's moderated. On the whole, it's strongly left leaning. But there are conservative users who post regularly.

What I'd be interested in seeing is a conservative message board where you can show up with a different opinion and actually engage in some serious discussion instead of just getting called a cuck and a troll. If you show up on a board like gamefaqs with conservative opinions, you won't always be welcomed warmly, but at least many of the responses you receive will be substantive. Here, if a liberal makes a thread, the first page of responses will basically consist of

"CUCK"

"SNOWFLAKE"

"MELT"

"GOOD JOB, NOW HILLARY IS PRESIDENT"

and other keyboard diarrhea like that all in a thinly veiled attempt to avoid actual conversation. I don't know if I just haven't found such a conservative board out there yet or if, perhaps, the fact that one doesn't exist is just another sign of the lack of mental maturity that seems so prevalent among young conservatives.

It all depends on the thread though. If the thread is raising a legitimate point worth debating, there are plenty of good posters here willing to engage.

But if it's the usual troll shite that most proggies around here go with, ya the response is going to be likewise as shitty with plenty of Cucks and Melts to go around.

There have been some great discussions on this board. That's why I continue to post here. You just have to ignore the trolls, much like most other boards.

Didn’t you admittedly start a thread about the rich and the stock market yesterday with the purpose of baiting people?

Liberal posts CNN article critical of Trump = trolling

Trumpkin posts Gateway Pundit article about Hillary eating babies = legitimate thread

This is the problem. It is only ever considered “trolling” if it is done by liberals.

The premise of this OP smells like BS.

Are you suggesting that us Libtards should be more grateful than others for being allowed to post here?

I bet Chicken has the business savvy to know if TD would make more money as a pure echo chamber for pro-Trump snowflakes.

Should he make that determination it will take him probably 3 minutes to delete our Libtard accounts and change the name of this board to Trumpkin Talk.

I saw a legitimate response that other boards would downvote you into oblivion if you’re conservative. As if you don’t get downvoted into oblivion simply saying obama wasn’t the spawn of satan around here.
