Politics overtook Patriotism a while ago. People cheer on their teams (Repubs/Dems/Conservs/Libs/ect) while rooting against compromise and "the other side".
Most people aren't douche bags, and can handle normal, one on one disagreements without seeing the other side as evil, but when groups get together tribalism kicks in and "frick those evil peeps" just takes off.

That isn't what people are mad about. I heavily, heavily disagree with my dad on Gay Marriage, but because he believes in traditional church teachings on marriage, people literally call him a homophobe. I've seen him do amazing stuff for his niece who is gay, and not even think twice.
I'm very pro-gay, but you'd have to be blind not to see how it's gone from we want tolerance to acceptance to now celebration. Celebration of any secuality is idiotic, shut up and work.

Well, they've been pushing the "silence is violence" bullshite since the BLM movement began and now it's being applied to all their social movements.

No one is forcing anyone to do anything, including celebrate. There are pride parades because gays have historically faced discrimination. Can we just stop the triggering?
