I love this line especially from Christians. Telling gay people this line meanwhile telling gay people at the same time that their lifestyle is sinful

Almost makes them hypocritical. As a straight man I never felt the need to bitch about gay people but then again I'm not religious
Christians have a selfless message of objective truth and the need for repentance and faith that leads to eternal life and reconciliation to God. Homosexuals are pushing a subjective and arbitrary moral standard meant to selfishly support their own sexual preferences.

Christians preach to save others. Homosexuals are "preaching" to save themselves.

So you’re saying it’s not ok to be gay?

I support the Biblical perspective on homosexuality. Homosexual lust and practice are sins and need to be repented of and all people--homosexuals included--need to put their trust in Jesus Christ for salvation from their sins.

Not in places where it isn't tolerated.

He's saying he disagrees with it. While I believe he's incorrect, somehow I don't think you agree with every religion either.

I didn't take it as a joke as much as a complaint or a note of hypocrisy. Either way, it doesn't hurt to clarify a position now and again.

objective truth

What?
What objective truth does Christianity have or hell any religion? You want to believe in Christianity that's perfectly fine, but telling people they need to change their lives because they go against your beliefs is a total dick move. And for the love of God don't involve government because that's not their job

FWIW I'm not claiming you personally are doing this but this has just been my experience with a good number of religious people.

Blaming gays for their sexual preferences would be like blaming a red head for being born with red hair.

Good number of ghey people call out Christians all the time... Tell you what, I am perfectly happy with you don't tell me that my beliefs should conform to your and I won't expect yours to conform to mine...

Serious question here: why the frick are gheys so concerned about acceptance by Christians and why are they always attempting to corrupt scripture in order to attempt to prove their point?

Oh please. It’s not Christianity that is preventing people from accepting gays (outside of Foo).

Btw I know gays who are actually practicing Christians. Trump even has a high level gay supporter (the PayPal guy). It’s 2019 my dudes. Time to accept homosexuality as a part of humanity. It’s always has been.

Only the Christian/Biblical worldview provides the preconditions for intelligibility necessary to know anything for certain (truth). Atheism doesn't have a basis for it, and other worldviews are either internally inconsistent and incoherent or don't offer a reason for the world we live in. Only Biblical Christianity can, which is why it says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7) and that the fool says in his heart "there is no God" (Psalm 14:1). If you reject God, you can't know anything, which is "foolishness".

quote:

You want to believe in Christianity that's perfectly fine, but telling people they need to change their lives because they go against your beliefs is a total dick move.
According to what standard? You are making a moral judgment. You are saying that it's wrong ("a total dick move") for Christians to tell people that they need to change their lives. Why? Are you in essence telling Christians that we need to change our lives by violating our beliefs and refusing to preach the Gospel message of faith and repentance? This is the foolishness that the Bible is talking about. Your worldview is self-defeating, or in other words, "foolish".

quote:

And for the love of God don't involve government because that's not their job
Everyone has a worldview. Neutrality is a myth. Even the atheist is not neutral because he brings his own presuppositions to the table with how he makes sense of reality and what he deems moral and immoral. This "worldview" is brought to politics and the atheist votes for representatives that align with their worldview. They vote for initiatives that align with their worldview. They oppose candidates and initiatives that oppose their worldview. Christians do the same thing, yet you want us to abandon our worldview when it comes to politics while you and others get to keep theirs? Why?
